Y’all are too dumb to know the sitting Governor has always controlled LSU.
Yes, but he’s done it quietly and in the shadows.
Does Lane Kiffin really want to be publicly subservient to a guy who will grandstand and blast him whenever he feels like it?
Posted on 10/31/25 at 9:13 am to NIH
Being a republican comes with logic at our base level and Landry lacks logic on to much to ignore.. he’s a wannabe not a true leader.
Posted on 10/31/25 at 9:14 am to boosiebadazz
I think LSU would be retarded to pay Kiffin 14 million a year or whatever that would take. Whenever you are paying someone generational wealth on a yearly basis you risk them not giving a shite.
(I know that’s not directly your point)

Shut the frick up you Marxist hack. Your boy JBE forced masks and vaccines to ATTEND a game and threatened to shut down the team for funding battles. Eat shite

This placed has melted 10x harder over Jeff Landry this week and over the live tiger thing than they did when JBE was muzzling them and their children, forcing experimental injections, and telling them not to worry about their rights. Absolutely bizarre.

What am I missing re. Landry
Nothing.
Landry is not perfect by a long shot but he is trying to get the woke morons out of LSU.
He sees the value of God in school.
Watch who he brings in for LSU President. It wont be some big east coast liberal who brings money. It will be a local conservative President from a small University.
I hope he does the same with the coach.

Every “top candidate” is under a microscope. What a stupid comment.
You're a dumb motherfricker if you don't see how a potential coach may want to pass on LSU when he knows his job may hinge on what that fricking idiot thinks of them? And that they'll have to answer to his dumb coonass?

That gets back to my earlier post that went over Karla’s womanly head.
The governor can bitch and moan all he wants, but these contracts are responsive to market forces.
Is he going to draw a line in the sand and take a lesser coach because he won’t pay top of the market rates on principle? He certainly can make that edict if he wants. shite, he’s halfway there now.

I think he was looking to make national news and took the opportunity to involve himself. I think he also believed the fan base was adamantly against Kelly and Woodward, which apparently isn’t the case if you read the rant.
Landry has made a fool of himself on the national stage and made the LSU job much less desirable... Period. People are talking about this shite show all around the county. Sorry it hurts your fee fees.

All fluff. Who cares
Because its shitty optics on how it was handled vs if it had been handled like normal AD and coach firings.
We could have fired Brian Kelly and Woodward and just let the LSU Board of Supervisors put out an official statement and left it at that. Landry's involvement in the decision could have been kept quiet and behind the scenes. Then Woodward's firing would have been a local news story for a day or 2, but because Jeff Landry made such a public spectacle of everything and even went on Pat McAfee's show....now its a national new story and now the whole country knows we have a governor who's sticking his nose deeply into how the athletic department runs.

I’m not understanding the panic.
I don't know that anything Landry has done was terribly out of line, or out of place. But the proof will be in the pudding.

I think it would be wise for these schools to hire younger coaches at a cheaper rate and put the money towards the roster. Treat it almost like a rookie contract in the NFL.
Posted on 10/31/25 at 11:07 am to NIH
I don’t disagree with you but rookie contracts are set by a CBA.
These contracts are subject to market forces. It’s not an apples to apples comparison.
Is LSU willing to risk putting its foot down and missing out on top-level guys offered more by other schools in an attempt to be a change agent and reset the market?

Have you seen the governor of Oregon? Do you know what brought Dan Lanning to coach there? It wasnt the governor

If, and I know it's a big if, TAF for some reason fails to pay the coaches the large salaries or buyouts, the taxpayers are responsible.
This is a moot point because the coach would still be employed if they could not pay the buy out.

I don’t know exactly what he’s competent or qualified to be doing in this regard, or whoever it is who might be competent or qualified that might be advising him on these things.
I don’t exactly know what his ultimate goal or endgame is.
Woodward was in bed with the local DIm crew (see James Carville). Thats how we got JBE as guv, and Tate as prez. Rumor is they were going for Franklin as Kellys replacement. (We almost got Mel Tucker instead of BK) Also, they axed our MBB coach because Woodward is buds with Collis Temple, and he was all up in Woodys ear
Landry is taking the progressives out of LSU governance and athletics
And the bullshite "conservatives" on here are suddenly all for $100M coaches and $60M buyouts because someone else will pay it. Money that they could invest into opportunities and jobs within the state
Those complaining are the morons who keep voting for moderate DIMs

Nope. Woody fired him personally. Moscona confirmed that yesterday.

Leave Tate out of this. His background was concerning when he was brought on but he turned out to be a fantastic President for the university. Dude was all about sports and kept the woke shite at bay.
Nope. He brought in the holistic admission standards and we witnessed what that leads to a couple weeks ago.
