I have a hard time believing there is a movie made that will only be in theater and never streamed.
It would have streamed. The contract guaranteed a theater exclusive opening and showings for a certain period of time before it could move to Disney+.
Disney said frick you and your contract, we stand to make more money if we ignore all that legal shite.

So...you don't have the contract to post?

frick everyone involved.
However, ScarJo DOES have a point in that her contract was structured based on gross points in the film and Disney’s decision to put the film on D+, even as a premium feature, day and date with theatrical release hurts her.
And I REALLY have no sympathy for Disney trying to Covid shame her for them breaching contracts.
ScarJo is just the first to actually sue instead of getting a behind the scenes deal. The filmmakers behind Wonder Woman 84, Dune, and other WB distributed films already got concessions from WB for their plan to make the films available either on HBO Max as exclusives in lieu of a theatrical release or concurrent with a theatrical release.

Glad to see you're still here being stupid.

Much like Bruce Willis with Die Hard, Arnie asked for the moon in the first Terminator because he thought the film was a piece of shite and either wanted a huge payday or for them to turn him down.
It just happened that Terminator became pretty much his breakout hit and lead to a wildly successful sequel. (Less said about further sequels the better)

Screw both of them but this is where I land. It’s crappy of them to screw over that part of her contract and then say “you’re insensitive because of Covid.” Even if the movie was worse than it was it would have cleared 700mm.

Honestly, she's not wrong to do it. Producers look at box office numbers when they look to include actors in movies or multi film contracts and this will be a negative for her. Sure it seems like it's all about the money, but for her, it is.

I see The Rocks new movie is premiering on Disney plus exactly like Black Widow.
Is he as upset as Scarlet?

When was that movie made and was The Rock given an upfront salary or gross points in the film?
Black Widow was in the can and about a month away from release when Covid hit. All contracts were written with ScarJo getting a lot of her pay from the film as part of the gross.
Rock’s film? He may have gotten a flat fee or the contract may be completely different if it was filmed after the world went to hell in a hand basket.

You dumb bastard, she was killed off in the last Avengers movie, so if you haven’t seen it in two years, not my problem.
Also, probably no need to be calling anyone a fat frick if that picture in your profile is you.

how does a worker sueing their employer for more money register as capitalism to you?
I won't even debate as others have pointed out she's not a Disney employee suing for workers comp.
She's a business partner suing for breach of contract. Disney agreed to exclusive movie release in her contract if they weren't gonna do that they should have amended it to something agreeable between the parties.
In capitalism you don't just go break contracts willy nilly or you end up in court. This is simply her business pushing back on Disney to enforce a contract, nothing more capitalist than that in the legal system
