Because you lack an understanding of basic human behavior. 99% of people (if given the chance) will take advantage of an employer and situation. Sitting at home relying on self motivation is not a good plan by any employer. Set up a camera in front of the computer where your screen time is monitored. But the leftists would say that is a privacy issue. Then go the the office where the people who pay you know you’re doing your damned job.

The boomer obsession on this board with WFH is quite bizarre. I voted for Trump and see no issue with it so long as employee output is measurable. My employees work from home and I've had zero issues with it. Why should I pay for commercial real estate if I don't have to? These government employees whether they worked at home or in an offices needed to be terminated. Ending WFH was just a way to expedite that. All government employees whether they be federal, state, or local are a drain on society. I make an exception for firefighters. They do a difficult job very well and are good for the community.

Well, to be honest...I work all day every day, and mostly in my UGA jammie bottoms. Even when I have a meeting I just don a button up shirt and clean up my face.

I manage over a hundred resources across dozens of projects, so yeah I'm working. Scope reviews, timelines, people management, etc. Escalations.

Even though I'm in the private sector, I could get fired tomorro. But it wouldn't have anything to do with my jammies. That said, this chick working for the 'Childrens Bureau', whatever the fk that is, seemed to have been slacking. She was dead weight.

This WFH angst several people here display is the dumbest shite. It literally makes no sense why anyone would give a shite how anyone they don't know, never interact with, and aren't even coworkers with does a job that has absolutely nothing to do with them.

I own a small business and have two employees that work three days in the office and two days from home. They are extremely productive.

I’m sure working from home they might be working another job? I don’t know it crosses my mind but as a small business, I offer this to these employees their talented and probably could go find work elsewhere. That’s the struggle with being in a small business. Is you know can you keep your people, as I said, they are extremely fast and effective productive employees but there’s no way I would let them work five days a week from home and I don’t let them have Fridays at home Or a Monday

I THINK THE ISSUE IS OUR GOVERNMENT IS BROKE.

WE KNOW it has TOO MANY PEOPLE BURNING cash

TOO MANY OF OUR TAX DOLLARS AND TO HEAR THAT THEY’RE WORKING FROM HOME all week. AND THEY DON’T WANT TO CHANGE. THEY DON’T LIKE CHANGE , THEY DON’T WANT TO COME INTO THE OFFICE. THERE IS A CULTURE WITHIN THE GOVERNMENT THAT PEOPLE DESPISE.

Why do people hate other people who have work from home jobs? Is it jealousy? I wish I could do my job from home.

I worked for decades before I got the chance. I'm not giving it up easily, I worked hard to get to this point where I could have a WFH job.

I hope you get it one day.

That makes me happy to hear. And thanks for saying that, but I’d have to change careers to possibly do WFH one day, but I am considering it.

Your last statement is the problem we have in this government and the waste from programs funded by the likes of USAID and the Department of Education. Too much DEI bullshite programs and made up shite they waste our money on. You said you have two employees and I assume you trust them to get the job done whether at home or at the office. Imagine having thousands of employees and no one really keeping track. We saw the DOGE list of millions of dollars to stupid shite. These people probably acting like they were entitled to these working conditions and acting like they were making a difference but honestly to me it sounds like alot of people doing nothing other than taking our tax dollars. Better organization and transparency is definitely needed in government going forward.

Working from home definitely has a place in this country the problem we have found from DOGE is the excess of government spending and no way of tracking it. I saw where over half the employees working these federal jobs in some areas had other jobs and went into the office 2 times a month. bullshite. These jobs are paid with our tax dollars and yes I want to know what the money is used for and where it is going. No more 30 million to other countries for DEI nonsense and 1 million to Froman for being a dumbass.

Ok I made that last part up but you get my drift

Yeah, it's pretty clear the dumb bitch is bragging ONLINE how she doesn't do a damned thing until she's forced to pretend like she is.

Of course the gay soy boys will rush to her defense.

And... I thought, truly, that was a 'state' activity... what, exactly, does the federal arm of this effort accomplish?

I can tell you what a similar program is through the UN with your tax dollars..

The blue teddy bear with a band aid on its chest. Its some international campaign to reduce child abuse.

I saw three white as the driven snow yuppie kids, with a local who was doing the actual work, painting one on a wall along the highway. Im sure they were summer interns, kids of embassy, state, imf, lat bank, world bank or some sort. Paint one logo (or I should say watch the local paint it), take a selfie of their hard work, send it out to all their friends back home lamenting how they are enduring the heat, then after 30 minutes head to the bar.

The other day I saw a "piper" (a crack head) with a t-shirt with the logo. I wanted to ask him if it convinced him not to beat on his chillen.

Because many of these people who are "working" from home aren't actually working, but staying home and doing nothing on the taxpayers' dime.

I'm a project manager and I work from home. Been working from home for 20 years.

I manage IT projects where resources are scattered all over the place. Even if I had an office, I'd still be on WebEx meetings all day.

I'm always rated far exceed and get paid the maximum bonuses that are offered.

It astounds me the ignorance some of you have about people who WFM.

Are there bad apples out there that abuse the privilege? Sure. I'm not one of them.

I'm not defending her, but you make wide assumptions. While she mentioned having to "don" a hoddie, she didn't say she was not preparing for the meeting while in her jammies.

I WFH, and if I don't have to go anywhere or online meetings, I'm wearing a t-shirt and shorts most of the time; sometime "jammies" if it's cold. I'm not gaming my employer either as I own 45% of the company I work for. If no meetings when WFH, why get all dressed up. Be comfortable and be productive.

I had a WebEx meeting with my CIO yesterday. He's 3 levels above my head. It was just him, me and one other guy. The CIO was wearing a hoodie and so was I.

And somehow, she had no meetings scheduled.

So it seems that she is a pretend social worker with almost no work load.
