Were Republicans as adamantly against Obama as Democrats are against Trump?

Is the contempt for Trump equal but opposite to the contempt for Obama, or have Democrats taken us into unprecedented territory?

Definitely equal, but likely not as childish and repulsive.

No one burned limos and fricked up Starbuck’s when Ohama was elected.

No entertainers threatened to blow up the WH.

No feminists slut shamed Michael.

Please . This has been definitively covered here . Just consider Inauguration Day for both men.

show me the decapitated Obama head that some comedian held up because it was funny.

Or the multiple mock assassination attempts that were shown in music videos or plays in the Park.

But both sides have their crazies, the left just seems to have a lot more.

Both were intense, but I think it is way more heated now.

Obama being a kenyan marxist is now trump being a russian nazi.

Except only one of those is truth.

Democrats treat all Republican Presidents the same. They claimed Bush's presidency was stolen as well (hanging chad?) and tried to impeach him too

I don't recall efforts to impeach Obama his first year in office. I also don't recall Obama being undermined by his predecessor.

Similar, but not the same.
The rhetoric is the same, but the actions in real life are very different.
Republicans talk a big game on tv and the internet, but they don’t do shiite in teal life because they’ll risk losing their jobs.

Yes, but Repiblicans weren't destructive children because of it.

And late night TV is pretty much unwatchable because of all of the hate. I’m sure liberals fantasize about Trump getting assassinated. They are sick in the head.

Crazy, unhinged, hateful, violent - those are the norms on the left.

I pray that Ares, the son of Zeus and Hera, sees to it that the liberals take to the streets for violent confrontation on a wide scale.

Probably. But not nearly as over dramatic or self destructive.

Unprecedented territory easily.

Protests, riots, temper tantrums, pussy hats, numerous congressmen calling for impeachment, sky screamers, a witch hunt investigation by the FBI, etc.

There are relatively few logical, rational democrats. They would never vote in favor of anything construed as being a Trump supported issue, no matter it’s merits. For them, it is ALWAYS about the ends justifying the means.

The same is not true for most republicans.

For those with short memories, please look up the level of vitriol that was spewed by dems about establishment neo-con George Bush... about “consensus builder” John McCain... about milquetoast fricking Romney. Romney! The left thought And claimed that Romney was a racist, sexist, nazi, just like they are calling Trump.

They clearly and openly opposed him. However it felt more like a strategic move than a real hatred or visceral reaction like their seems to be on the left towards Trump.

The difference was more “let’s shut down everything Obama tries so we can make him a do nothing president and then use that against him and the Democrats” versus “Trump yarrg blarrg Hitler, rabble rabble Resist, yarrg blarg (insert sjw cliche here)”
