We're not the only ones getting duped. The genuine left wing is getting duped as well.

They are just too dumb to see it.

I'm talking about the Bernie, AOC crowd waiting around for a workers revolution.

This is strictly a capitalist oligarch reset coming. The richest men in the history of the planet are helping construct our new world order. And they are going to throw the left every savory bone they can think of, from LTGB to BLM. All the silly, inconsequential stuff.

As far as public ownership of the means of production and real redistribution of wealth; it isn't happening.

We're getting inflation, which always favors the super wealthy and destroys those in fixed incomes.

This is why they will always talk higher taxes for the wealthy, but get no where on wealth tax.

Sure they will work towards a minimum universal income and universal housing. We all live in hellish crime ridden highrises and get a bare subsistence of a stipend.

Then they can kick back at their cocktail parties and talk about all they have done for the people and how they solved the climate issue.

But they get their cut first. They are perched above the "state" on the hierarchy.

But it’s happening right now.

Feels bad man, and there’s nothing we can do about it.

The far left has done a great job of corralling people desperate for external validation. Identity politics has been great for them as they don't really have to do anything of value for their base. They just pat them on the head and let them think they have won and despite having gained no real benefit they are satisfied.

In a sense, the right is just as gullible. We mollycoddle corporate monsters due to faith in capitalism and free Enterprise, when in fact they are busily working with government to be part of the power elite.

Look at how much cash Bank of America has received from the government since 2008. Trillions. They won't even fix their ATMs. Won't hire enough tellers. They are a bank for the public in name only.

And yet we protect them.

The left thinks it's a socialist revolution, but it's really not. We think we are defending a free country with a free market, but that's not reality either.

Absolutely. The blind support for Ukraine is a great example of this and the instant dismissal of people as "Putin supporters" is way too close to the "Nazi!" screech of the progressives. Support for massive international corporations and the war hawk mentality are a problem for conservatives.

Both parties have a good share of useful idiots.

Horkhiemer and the Frankfurt School realized that capitalism led to a productive middle class which almost eliminated the potential of a proletariat of the working class. That (and Mao's revolution) is what led Marcuse to move to cultural marxism and the current state of affairs in the USA

They hold a belief that the answer to life's difficulties is held in the form a government of benevolent people when they're in charge.

It's always been the people vs the government. The government is just the means of control of the ultra wealthy and powerful. We got ignorant on our own.

The powerful have never had such far reaching means of control that exist with the modern technology of today but the people also have access to information like never before as well.

The biggest problem is the press. If the press can't be trusted to filter and pass the information on to the public then we aren't going to be an informed populace. The information is out there it just has to be sifted through by the individual and with all the distractions that the modern information age offers most people don't put in that effort and the press has become so diluted by profit motive that they are mostly unreliable.

We are all victims of our own prosperity to a degree. We have it better than ever before but the institutions that are the pillars of our society are slipping and many people are so far removed from reality that they don't even understand the purpose or importance of them.

Is there any way there could be a coalition of people who don't necessarily share common values or even goals, but do have a common enemy in the cabal?

I would rather compromise on my politics than live under some international union of super industrialists and post modernist intellectuals.

These idiots (bernie,AoC crowd ) and their ilk have been seduced into believing that gov't. will solve all their problems ( see FDR's New Deal , Soviet 5 year Plans, Mao's Cultural Rev. LBJ's Great society) .

None of this horseshite works.

bernie AoC types are too damn lazy to read History and have zero reading comprehension skills and are Hell Bent on destroying this country because of "feels" and consciences ( pay more for fuel/food).

Assholes.

Agreed. The media is a huge problem. They flat out lie and distort things and since over 50% of our population ( being nice here) is intellectually challenged….. they eat it up and believe it like the rest of the sheeple. We are destroying ourselves.

I didn't mean to get you guys all worked up into a right v left thing

I was simply pointing out that the real power doesn't reside with the left. The real power uses the language of the left to placate them. But the real power never really gives up any of it's wealth or it's power to the left or the right.

Yes but this is where our prosperity bites us in the arse. When things get bad enough the people will band together to make a change. We get on here and bitch and moan but things aren't bad enough for enough people to actually buck the system in meaningful ways. We are also mislead into lashing out in controlled ways to feel like we are fighting for change (BLM).

The truth is that we have become domesticated and there is little hope that we ever become uncomfortable enough to do anything about it until we are in the slaughterhouse.

The best remedy for the individual would be to get involved locally. Learn about your community and be active in it politically. Don't be distracted by national or world news. These are things you have very little to no influence over. Control what you can control and don't put effort into what you cant. More importantly, understand what category things fall into. If enough people do this then we would naturally band together to protect what sovereignty we have.

The great trick that is being pulled on us now is MSM exposing us to the world and it's events and making us think that our online escapades are actual involvement or control in our affairs (My hypocrisy knows no bounds in this regard) when we should be focused on local ground up affairs that are within our scope of influence and knowledge. This is why many people in large cities have disconnects in being American and often feel like they are "global citizens".

TLDR: If you really care and want a change, get involved locally.
