Report: Civilians Bought More Guns in the Last 2 Months Than the Military Has In Total

That means American civilians own nearly 100 times as many firearms as the U.S. military and nearly 400 times as many as law enforcement

The number of gun-related civilian background checks in May and April, at over 4.7 million, is greater than the number of firearms currently owned by the American military.

And the left grows increasingly more regressive and unhinged...

There’s a 30 year officer in the army reserves I’m friends with. We got to talking about politics one day, and I discovered his centrist to liberal views towards many things.

He’s pro-gun control, and I told him the guns are the last thing we have to protect us from total government power. He claims the citizens of a country would never have a chance against the military.

I’m no military expert, but I do know that having over 100+ million people armed is not easily surpassed. Not to mention all of the servicemen who share our pro-2nd amendment views.

That should be a cause for great concern, for average Americans. How many rogue actors are there among the gunowning population?

In a conventional firefight, he is 100% correct. However, the govt and it’s employees know that they can’t disarm citizens and in any form of insurrection would have to rely on the military to fight their neighbors. It’ll never happen. It’s more likely that civilians will tear each other apart first.

Eh it just depends on how far the military is willing to take things

If they want your dumb arse dead in the next 10 minutes it won't be a problem

I should’ve rephrased that. He was particularly referencing our citizens agains the US military.

And then where does the military live? And where do their families go during the bombing?

I doubt Johnny Drone Pilot will perform well when his children are kidnapped after he leaves for work.

It would be well over 100 million armed. Most gun owners own multiple weapons and if the sh!t hits the fan they will loan their extra weapons to like-minded family and friends that might not have any weapons.

Likely a moot point because most military members are conservatives.

That's the thing though isn't it. Our military operates under very restrictive ROE's when we fight the brown people in the desert. Why would anyone think they'd go full bore on whitey in America? And that's what it would take. It would have to be the most ruthless and bloody counterinsurgency campaign the US has ever undertaken to even have a small chance at beating the American citizens. And even then it's probably a losing proposition for the government for a myriad of reasons.

Long story short, this "officer" doesn't know dick about the US military or warfare in general.
