I'm running out of options. First Dicks, now Academy, but for different reasons. Screw you and your "policy", Academy. LINK

It sucks but it is against most (if not all) company policies for employees to try to stop someone physically from stealing.

All they can do is tell the perp to stop verbally and call the police.

The three dolphin I caught last week were so right.

The topless beach in Miami is so right.

Frozen key lime pie dipped in chocolate on a stick is so right.

You would think that as a manager he would know the policy on physically stopping a thief. What would have been your stance had the perp taken out a different weapon and mowed down a group of customers? Their fault for shopping there right? When an employee takes on any action he assumes the position of the company and makes it liable for all results of that action.

Now that the poor criminals know the policy they can stand there and load and no employee can stop him. The next thing could be a lot of deaths in the store.

So someone is beating the frick out of an old lady in the store and the employees does nothing besides call the cops and tell him to stop, everything's good right?

frick that.

That is a symptom of sue happy culture we have here in the United States and frick Academy for shitting on this hero.

This guy is a hero but he violated company policy. He'll get paid very well for it by the internet. He's not going to suffer If anything this will be the best thing that ever happened to him.

But the police are not held to that same standard are they? If they engage in a high speed persuit which results in death of innocent person for example.

It’s a little known fact that when a husband gets national publicity for being a hero then the wife is obligated to provide anal. It’s actually the reason most men risk their life in the first place. True story.

Thanks for explaining what Academy did to make you hysterical.

Fascinating thread.

Would read again.
