Neighbor's brother had a 500 acre farm in NW Iowa. He farms with partners more the 5,000 acres and is making millions. Cannot make that on 500 acres.
Friends in Lake Chuck, and I've hunted that land, sharecrop 20,000 acres, the farmers make more than the landowner

Our sharecropper made more than the farm profited for quite some time.

Continued periodic bailouts strengthen the grip Deere et al have on the input side which are monopolies basically.
This is a problem that needs to be addressed. Seed, chemical, and Equipment manufacturers are damn near predatory on farmers. Deere and Case are awful and make it where you cannot work on your own equipment anymore, and they rape you on the service department end. 10x worse than car dealerships.
I’ve seen farmers fork over 10k for a service call to replace a main fuse on a Case because they located the fuse under the cab where it required removing the entire cab to replace a fuse. Without the fuse, the tractor wouldn’t run.

No they don't. People like Chuck Grassely, the Corn and Soybean checkoff boards, Cargill, and JD want a bailout
Multiple commodities will benefit from these tariffs
This
It will be interesting to watch commodities benefit from a stronger dollar vs relying on a weak dollar to trade on the world market.

It's probably not a good idea for any farmer...but it's a damn terrible idea if any sugar farmer in the US gets a single dime from the govt from this day forward for any reason whatsoever.
It's time to allow that entire industry to die out.

This actually sounds like the perfect market opportunity for imports to cause market disruptions. Do we have tariffs that make it more difficult to import this heavy machinery?
