Yeah, imagine everyone being able to see a doctor or be treated at a hospital without fear of having to declare bankruptcy. Imagine not having to start a go fund me to pay for medical bills.
Imagine waiting 6 months for a MRI
Imagine waiting a year in pain for a knee replacement
Imagine being told by a panel of medical “experts” that your mom is going to hospice and she can’t try an experimental drug for her cancer because it’s not on the government formulary.
We have the best healthcare in the world.
Fake news wants you to believe the government can run it better because the government wants complete control of one of the biggest sectors of the economy.
Just walk into any VA and you can see what kind of care you will get. You don’t have to imagine.

That's American healthcare man. A system where i pat out of pocket monthly and then pay more out of pocket before it kicks in. For something to potentially one day be covered
You're full of shite and, if you had a job, you would know this. You don't start paying insurance premiums until after you have coverage.

Yes and once i have that coverage i still pay for things out of pocket. Some maybe reduced but there's a deductible you gotta pay first...

Need medical care- well just go get a job and then 3 months later you'll be able to go see the doctor and be covered.
Shouldn’t you get a job or be looking for a job regardless of if you need medical care?

You realize exactly what your complaint is about is exactly why this healthcare system was able to facilitate the rapid creation of the jab you were happy to have when you had covid. There's a reason all the shots the entire world are taking are coming from American pharmaceutical companies. They are the only ones in the world with the pipeline necessary.
That's not random. But hey, it's sounds alot more magical for it all to just be free, so frick it.

The dozen or so terms are irrelevant. The trend is toward less individual freedom and more govt control of your life.

Imagine that. Having to pay for your health.
Funny how the soy boys cry like little girls when their favorite restaurant closes, yet it is immoral to make them pay for any of their own health care.

I fear we will never be able to unwind our current health care pooling construct.
I still believe that an open market - pay out of pocket system for routine and preventive care plus a pooling of risks/insurance system for acute/catastrophic care would be the best way to go.
But HMOs started us down a path of no return.

Enjoy your 8 month wait for a heart surgery.
Oh wait.
You are too old. We have this illegal alien that needs it worse than you.
Sorry. Here's some pain medicine. Enjoy your last few weeks on this Earth. Good luck.

You either pay with your pocketbook, of pay with your quality of life.
Imagine how much worse life would suck if subsidized medics wasn’t able to rely on US taxpayers to foot the vast majority of the bill for pharmaceutical research and design.
Just like with NATO, those nations benefited at a greatly reduced cost.
frick socialism.

Fascism via monopolistic collusion (whatever...Pharma, Ag, Tech etc.) is the route to a singular global order with max governmental control (communism).
Hence the term - communazis.

They always are and bad things never happen to smart people that are out of their control......
Defending our current medical system while we subsidize the world is lunacy. There's clearly something wrong with he system....

I don't see anyone arguing for free. I think the debate is how should the American public pay for their healthcare and do we feel the private companies have been good stewards to a field with many ethical concerns.

How fricking bad do you think it will actually get? Imprisonment for wrongthink? Is this what your shitheads really want?
what do you foresee?
you've got
65 Dem senators and 240 dem house.
now what?
