Most use FBI statistics which have shown an uptick over the last three years. There are some interesting numbers in the article. I think the most important is the actual number of incidents. It is what’s being overblown. There is less than 1/2 of an incident per reporting agency. That isn’t exactly an epidemic.

The idea that someone is going to commit a hate crime because of who is in the White House is as idiotic a claim as any I've ever heard. Are local and federal law enforcement agencies prohibited from investigating? Are local and federal prosecutors prohibited from bringing these charges? Absolutely maddening how stupid these people are.

The stats are also skewed by the definition of a hate crime, which is manipulated by local politicians.

Well, it reports "incidents" which I'm not sure means they were found to be true. That's the grey area that I want to look at.

I think the Southern Poverty Law Center uses some biased "study" to "prove" hate crimes by whites on increase. They seem to do this every so often. Check their website.

I think his team of lawyers know they can get him off the hook through local connections. As someone else pointed out, the people presenting the case to the GJ can mail it in and get the case shut down

Are progressives are much more aggressive in categorizing hate crimes? Are they more likely to look at a crime that has a white perpetrator and a black victim and try to prosecute it as a hate crime now? The uptick in fake hate crimes would indicate to me that they are trying to push the narrative that there are more hate crimes occurring because of our POTUS. Skewing the statistics would be one way of doing that.
