I know, right? The crazy thing is he's a HISTORY TEACHER! He should know better.

They also try to raise their children vegetarian. Last year their son discovered bacon and loved it and now wants to eat bacon. They just about lost it on Facebook, but they at least bought the kid bacon so he could cook it himself. It's like staring into a different reality.

The left and the right in this country hate each other. We have nothing in common. This is a miserable state of affairs. It is beyond time to divide up and move on.

We have everything in common; a desire for peace and prosperity at the fore. And the coming High Tech revolution can offer unimagined freedoms in that regard; but only if we can jump the hurdle of altering our traditional, Merit-based economic System to deal with the MASSIVE job loss that will result from High Tech efficiency.

The issue is Morality-based. The Left believes that it is economic desperation on the part of the weaker (less, economically valuable) citizenry that is the basis for much of their problematic behavior (drugs, crime, civic irresponsibility, social dysfunction, etc.). They view Capitalism (personal freedom, Merit-based, God given Rights) as "Darwinian Economics". That is why they are attracted to Marxist (Egalitarian) Ideology.

The Right believes that like God's 'judgment'...Individuals should be rewarded according to "their works"; and that Individuals should not have their personal works lumped in with that of a 'Hitler' or 'Manson'. They believe that if on person exerts extraordinary effort toward prosperity, then one's reward should be extraordinary. And if one exerts negative effort...one should be punished by negative rewards and consequences.

There is a "common ground" that can be implemented, to address these seemingly polar moral-based beliefs. If honest and moral 'Government' can confiscate the honest and positive fruits of extraordinary labors from one individual (I.e., their Freedom)...then said Just Government must confiscate/take away the Freedom of individuals who do irresponsible harm to themselves and society at large.

Qualified subsidization. Based on the Weaker Brethren's promise and verified actions toward improving their self, and holding up their side of the implied Social Contract toward those responsible citizens whose labors they claim a moral right to.

If we can't not agree on that...then read the history books. The sympathies expressed by many in this Thread is where it will go. 'Darwinian Economics'. The weak will die off in large numbers, along with a lot of moral - but relatively weak because of Systematic collapse - people.

I pray that wisdom prevails over "divide up"; because I know what that means. I fear standing in my back yard with a shovel. It's hard enough burying my dog...much less my beautiful 5 yr. old Great Granddaughter.

You can't just silence the press. As much as we push protecting our rights, "journalists" and I use that term very loosely, have rights as well. As they should and they should be protected.

They should also be journalists. They are very few and far between these days. 95 out of 100 are nothing but propagandists for the socialist democrat party. Why should they be protected?

Because punishment is the only thing these animals respond to, right?

No.

There was no reference to a “path for citizenship”.

It was merely a reference to allowing foreign born individuals the ability to obtain taxpayer funded insurance into adulthood.
I don't know what speech or debate you're getting this from, but her actual outlined immigration plan clearly references a path to citizenship.
quote:

You are right though, it is not by definition open borders, but as I said, it is getting very close.
There is a whole lot of space between locking people up and separating families, and "open borders". But according to the right, if we're not locking people up then our borders are open. The right is creating this false dichotomy and fighting this open borders strawman.

Well maybe he hasn't met those people.

There is a difference between moderate liberals in everyday society and the liberal media. Just like not everyone on the right is hard core Christian.

Funny how it’s always libs who end friendships and family bonds over politics.

Social justice is their faith. Deviation from said belief system is apostasy. Replace sinner with racist, sexist, homophobe, etc. They're no different than people in cults who cut off contact with the outside world.

This is typical of the left.

Leave him alone. I know he is family, but these people are trained to put destroying the country ahead of everything.

I can promise you, even though you are family, this Filth would have terrible things done to you if he could. This is what you are dealing with and you need to understand that.

Not fully half of the population, but certainly fully half of the 65 million or so that voted for Hillary, without a doubt. You'll never convince me that anyone that voted for her gives a rats arse about this country, it's founding documents and principles, or the people in it that oppose their socialist/communist agenda.

If you claim they aren't comparable, or that you aren't comparing them, what do you call it when you say the same exact thing but swap out one word?

Regardless, you, like everyone else here, are projecting a far left stance on fully half the country. Very few people want open borders. You just refuse to acknowledge that there is a multitude of options between locking people up and separating families, and fully open borders.

Ever hear of a metaphor? It's not a comparison, it's a metaphor pointing out the ridiculousness of your assertion. Are you dense?

quote:

Very few people want open borders.

That's the first correct statement I've been able to identify from you. Unfortunately for you, those that do want open borders consists primarily of a large percentage of the socialist democrat party. Do you even California, bro? If so many socialist democrats favor civil penalties as opposed to criminal charges, please list for us the civil penalties California has handed down to the millions of illegal aliens there.
