My wife is not masculine but she wasn't conservative when I met her. She was disinterested. I did not persuade her into conservatism. On our first date I was at her place to pick her up and saw her check stub on the table.
Me: 'Wow, you make $3K every two weeks?'
Her: 'No, it's 2K.'
Me: 'No, look at the fine print. You make 3. The rest goes to the govt.'
She blew her top and instantly became a right winger.

Hint - learned this as a single person - any one “disinterested in politics” or is self described as one is more likely than not a conservative. They think solely about how things impact them and are disinterested in how things impact the world around them. I hadn’t even read the rest of your post until now and it confirms everything.
