We didn’t arm the Taliban by mistake. So why did we arm them?

This isn’t all a mistake, we left all those weapons/money/tech on purpose.
The media and Biden admin are slowly making us and the Taliban allies. Fighting “Isis-K”, keeping order…
Won’t be a few months til we recognize them as legit, start diplomatic relations..
What’s the end game here? Is it all about the drug trade and a big piece of the proceeds for “the big guy”?

They can't be THAT stupid, can they? If indeed they are then it is treasonous behaviour. But I guess if you can steal an election what is a little treason and self enrichment? Protected up to this point by a compliant media they have blatantly thumbed their nose at We, the People. Hunter's laptop, violation of Supreme Court Orders, Hunter's "paintings", violation of existing laws concerning immigration, arbitrarily handcuffing American Oil Production. This is a scofflaw administration. There will be a day of reckoning.

Why would you need to make this choice? What goal do you or the US have that requires we saddle up to and side with barbaric 15th century Muslim goat herders? That we gift them US weapons and Tech and grant them legitimacy thru negotiations?

I said it yesterday. The Taliban are now the US proxy military in the area.
And I don’t really have a problem with that. Enemies turn into allies all the time, in a historical sense.
My issue is with the utter incompetence of this withdrawal, and abandoning Bagram (and Kandahar airport).

Our leaders are just that stupid; dumber than you can even comprehend. That's the last thing they want you to realize too, they want you to think they're smart and conniving with some master plan. They are greedy and corrupt, no doubt, but the overriding trait of all govt workers is laziness and total incomprehensible incompetence. When you understand that, the world makes a whole lot more sense.

Multiply a Presidential salary time's 8 years and then tell me how that buys multiple homes across the country. It doesn't.
But if you give a oligarch in Ukraine $500 million, he put's it in his own bank, and then it then disappears, that money was just laundered to be distributed back to those who sent it to Ukraine in the first place.
