Watching Bush funeral.
I am not a polly-anna but nice to see all political sides at least trying to be civil
Props to Trump for sending AF 1 & visiting Bushes at Blair House.
W came in church & went straight to front row where all ex presidents & wives.
Trumps, Obamas Clintons, Carters.& shook everyone's hand. You could tell he was thanking them. Nice touch. Hope W gets thru the eulogy.
Differences aside for a day ?
I hope so.
RIP. GHWB.

Agreed. I watched CSpan last night at midnight and was amazed at how cool it looked being flanked by the 5 service members. They were as still as statues.

Definitely a respectful presentation.

RIP Mr. President

I totally agree.

Shut everything down for the day to honor the office and its holder, while we properly pay our respects as a great country.

This only happens one or twice a decade.

Great to see.

The eulogy was very well written and presented.

Thinking of this family whose mother and father have passed on this same year.

Jon Meachem also did Barbara's Bush eulogy and it was also fantastic.

I was living overseas when Reagan died. I watched a lot of the coverage of his funeral on Fox News, which we got over there. I remember my brother-in-law saying we went all-out to bury our Presidents, and that when a former Prime Minister died there, they were lucky if they got two minutes on the evening news. Perhaps the only more impressive funeral is for the British royalty.

President Bush, the son, spoke with great heart and character about the love of and for his father. Wonderful.

Unfortunately I can’t watch. VA is still open, as it should be.

Each president is supposed to file a funeral plan of what they would like as soon as they leave office.

41’s plan shows a lot more dignity than, say, John McCain’s did.

The funerals of Carter, Obama, and Clinton will likely resemble something closer to the Paul Wellstone funeral.

W broke down at the end. No shame in that.
We forget sometimes all these politicians lives play out before the world. Yes they choose that life & all that comes with that life.
But I wouldn't want my family's life on every network in the world. (skeletons ya know...)!

I heard somewhere that the media criticized the presence of his dog. Wassup with that? That's low even for them.

Slate designated sky-screamer freaked out about his service dog lying down in front of the casket.

Keep it classy, Slate.

I wonder how Trump’s funeral is going to go? I bet the left won’t be so civil then.
