If law enforcement apprehends someone in the country illegally, not arresting and deporting them is dereliction of duty and public endangerment. They should be fired immediately.

We are a nation of laws or we aren’t. Nov 5th the majority chose ARE.

Constantly people keep telling us that American's wont work those jobs...

I've washed dishes, worked construction, hung chickens in a chicken plant, picked fruits and vegetables, landscaping, built decks, electrician in the Navy, etc

All before I found my career(desk job) that paid me well enough to get married and having children.

Many of the jobs I had, I might have continued, if they would have paid enough.
Why dont they pay enough? Because we allow cheap labor from 3rd world countries.

Who is going to deliver my new sofa from Restoration Hardware Outlet if the illegals who do the third party moving aren't available?

Sure we can. Better yet, go after the contractors and farmers hiring the illegal immigrants and make an example out of them with fines and/or jail time. They'll be sure to hire legal immigrants only and there won't be easy opportunities for the illegals. Hopefully the immigrants willing to work and contribute will seek citizenship. The jobs will be there. Just because an immigrant is legal doesn't mean they're automatically a high earner. They will still need a job using whatever skill set they have just like the majority of new immigrants have done for the past 2.5 centuries.

Exactly why I retired from a construction business 5 years ago.

I refused to hire illegals while competing contractors stuffed hundreds of thousands in their pockets using undocumented labor.

We had plenty of workers before 2020 when all of this started. Why would that change?

Latino immigrants have overwhelmingly been hardworking people doing valuable work in labor intensive jobs.
That’s the reality, like it or not. My neighbor, Mario, has been here for years, painting and re-modeling homes, while sending his kids to Jesuit HS and
Paying taxes …

I’ll say this; the delivery drivers for Nebraska Furniture mart near me sure aren’t illegals. Mainly blacks and Hispanics that are obviously from America when you talk to them or hear them in the places to eat.

I don’t think of furniture delivery and illegals.

And if you catch someone here illegally while searching for the criminals…well, you deport their arse too. I don’t see anything wrong with this.

Just relax, you'll still be able to find a slave to mow your yard.

My "yard slave" is a 65 year old White guy who probably has more money than 75% of this forum.

This needs to be a multifaceted approach. We will have a big loss of comstruction related jobs and ag jobs. We need to also start cutting welfare to force people who have dropped out back into workforce. We also need to ramp up skilled labor training through votechs and apprenticeships.

Is he undocumented dipshit?

If not the STFU

We're talking about illegals, not Latinos documented or here on visas

He has his yard service. He has a pressure washing business. General handyman service. Then he wheels and deals.

He can find more deals on pickups and motorcycles than anyone I have ever met. He'll buy something and flip it within a week for 100% profit.

Or, maybe- just maybe- the workers can come here under work visas and harvest crops. Seems to work for the sugar cane industry. Why does the construction industry rely on "illegals"? Hire legal workers and you wont have any issues.

There are a lot of dumbasses in here that can’t see beyond simply deporting illegals, which we should! However,I’m saying we need to be prepared for the second and third order issues that will arise from this concerning the job market. We need to plan accordingly. That is why we need to get people back into the job market who dropped out and get people off welfare rolls. Part of that includes an increase in blue collar wages since they have been depressed for so long. But a part of it also means taking away the government crutch that makes being unemployed too easy.

We also need to do a better job preparing people for work. We need to increase job programs and technical schools for both blue collar and white collar jobs. Our kids are coming out of school ill prepared. If we are going to cut visas then we need to have a skilled work force to meet it.

Look we all know why liberals want open borders! Its all about votes and census loading! They could care less about illegals!
