If it turns out the FBI opened a counter intelligence investigation on the President because he fired the FBI Director and the GOP platform on Ukraine and they don't come up with the goods, a lot of FBI officials need to go to jail and we need an entirely new FBI.
What's laid out in that NY Times piece is *incredibly* thin to turn the FBI loose on a sitting President. There better be more...a lot more.
This investigation will be one of the biggest stories in American history when all is said and done.
Either the President is a traitor or the national security apparatus of the government acted as if he might be because they didn't like his policy choices.
Neither is good.
A nevertrump twitter account who usually is all muh russia has this to say:

Barack Obama weaponized the IRS against private political groups and then used the intellegence community to spy on and sabotage a political opponent while sending pallets of cash to Iran and waging record breaking drone wars that went unreported.

Sadly there's about 50% of the country that has ZERO issue with any of it, even if the FBI had little to no reasoning behind their investigation (people like BamaAtl, 56lsu, tarzana that are completely devoid of morality and reason because they're blinded by their political beliefs).
It's a scary thought, and one that I never thought we'd experience in our republic.

I’m just curious. How do you know it has turned up no evidence? Are you privy to what the SCO knows? Or do you think you’re entitled to know at this point?

So it's your opinion that Mueller has turned up a bunch of rock solid evidence that Trump coordinated with the Russians to undermine the American Electoral process and succeeded in stealing an election through fraud, but non of this evidence has been presented anywhere, because...?

Because Trumps actions towards Putin and Russia were raising alarm bells in the intelligence community. Remember Trump inviting Russian delegation into the Oval Office day or two after firing Comey and what Trump said to them? "I faced great pressure because of Russia. That’s taken off,” to Russian delegates just days after the Comey firing.

Under your insane logic, obama should have been put under surveillance for working for Russia because of his soft stance on Russia in 2012 and telling Medvedev he’ll have more flexibility after election
