It really doesn't sound like Sessions has a clear reason not answer questions.

It's long standing policy- policy that um may not uh be actually written down- it is my uh view of policy.

So basically you don't want to answer and you are just making shite up on why you don't want to answer. It's against a policy that probably doesn't exist.

Comey's testimony on 3 May, 2017 on HRC is what led to his firing and an additional concern.

i'm going to bet that this is a legit policy of the DOJ and has been

it wouldn't make any sense otherwise

i mean the AG is the attorney for the US and represents the government. as a policy concern, why would we think the AG should be allowed to repeat private conversations with the President?

It was certainly Eric Holders policy when it came to Fast and Furious, in which the DOJ basically ran guns to drug lords and Americans were killed due to it.

Sessions responses were congruent with proper protocol in reference to questions pertaining to what others 'think' or 'feel' in juxtaposition with testimony by Mr Comey which led to his confession of leaking private conversations with all including non professional associates that were told to share with the media.

Is that drunk or red neck enough for you?
