Was the "animals" meme the most dishonest media moment of the Trump presidency?

i mean it's so bad that the AP has retracted its comments (others may have, i'm not sure)

it seemed by last night it was received so poorly by non-leftists that the DEM mouthpieces were literally defending MS13

it's the literal embodiment of "DEMs will accuse the GOP of what they're actually doing" (in this case, conflating latino immigrants with criminals)

It was the most open goal Trump's kicked in so far. The score is like 128-0 btw

One thing far leftists are definitely lacking in is self awareness

They seriously underestimate the intelligence of the American people

Not sure if it was the most despicable thing they have done.

Trump calling them out on it and a lot of them doubling down is certainly one of the dumber moments by the left and press.

How much red pilling this did can’t be estimated yet because this is still playing out. We have idiots like John Legend trying to defend MS13 and blame the US for creating them, which will turn off the middle and may make the remaining sane people on the left wonder how stupid their allies are.

and the "big picture"

take this popular response that accompanies the "defend MS13" angle

oh ok, so you shouldn't call people Nazis then, right?

American citizens can be a “basket of deplorables”

Violent, horrific gang members CANNOT be “animals “

Ann Coulter and Milo must be stopped from speaking at a college campus

Violent gang members should have free access to enter this country.

“But those people deserve it!”

Self awareness is not one of their strong suits.

I don’t think it’s even close to the most dishonest. But I think this story finally opened a lot eyes to just how corrupt the media has been to the President. People are starting to become woke.

I fully expect CNN to run an equally dishonest narrative today. They don’t take a day off.

It's like I said. At some point if you keep calling people Nazis it makes you a default holocaust denier.

The fish feeding incident was bad because they took a totally innocent event and tried to twist it into a negative against Trump.

This is exponentially worse. Anyone with a 3rd grade education would understand he was responding directly to comments about MS13.

CNN and liberal idiots on here are tired of being labeled fake news and clearly this was fabricated outrage on the level of the National Enquirer. CNN becomes more fake by the day and their plummeting ratings prove folks are sick of it.

Later yesterday, the liberal idiots on here were arguing that nobody was defending MS13.

Hell Legend not only defended them but then blamed their creation on the US. There it is....the good old liberal blame shift. MS13 isn't accountable for their rapes and murders because 40 years ago the US messed in South American politics so criminals today aren't animals. They are victims.

Yeah, liberalism is a disease and Trump Derangement Syndrome is real.

The assumption is that half of the country will go along with whatever is it they are selling - no matter how extreme, and the other half are "deplorables" or "bitter clingers" incapable of formulating a non racist thought.

They have zero respect for the electorate.

totally forgot about that. that one was more dishonest for sure, but it was so dishonest that it didn't get the traction this one did

i think the actual issue is that we allowed them to come here, they learned organized street crime, and we returned them. so our sin (as a government) was returning them to central american instead of allowing them to live here

Correct

PR campaigns can be very effective to change public opinion over the course of time. But if your beliefs are legitimately radical then you can't expect to throw it out there immediately and gain acceptance.

When you see stuff like this you realize, if you already hadn't, that many leftist have TDS so bad that they don't realize the hypocrisy, irony, and outright lunacy of their statements. You also see how much into group think they are. Legend was one of the celebs trying to reign Kanye in.

the "fake news" meme was a very powerful one during the Trump campaign

last night i posted with Hemphead about this. the cultural gatekeepers have NO IDEA how to handle Trump. they're used to "insider" types like Romney who want to be friends with the media and who won't challenge them publicly. Trump owns shite and doesn't even do the fake apology shite. he doubles down.

it's time to bring back Trump v. CNN memes!
