Was Pakistan aware of Bin Laden's whereabouts in Abbottabad?

Google search yielded very little speculation

Probably. The S-wing of ISI is tasked with trying to make inroads in Afghanistan, often working with Islamists. That particular wing probably knew. Key people in the military probably knew. I'm skeptical that the civilian government knew, as the military has a real distrust of the civilian government and vice-versa, but the military is the real power in he country.

Wasn't there a poster here who swore that not only did the Pakis know about OBL, but he was a guest, and he was being shielded by their intelligence agency?
Or was that my Bangladeshi econ professor?

No question. That’s why we had to go in the way we did. They were shielding him from our forces.

Do you still believe he was killed by the same people that were his friends and on his side? Obama didn't allow the killing of a CIA asset like that!

Yes. And I give Obama credit for green lighting the raid, but he should have cut every single penny given to Pakistan that very day.

Nah, the military just thought he was some other 6'7 skinny dude with tons of firearms living in secrecy in his compound

Didn’t you see the movie “Zero Dark Thirty”?

He lived in a guarded compound
How could they not know?

Exactly what I would have posted.

Yeah, man. Pakistan as an “ally” needs as many asterisks as Bama football. Pakistan would stab America in the back any time they think they can get away with it. Which is why I think we should lean towards India in that political sphere.

Sure they did, at least the ISI did. They were also pissed off enough about it that they arrested the doctor that we sent to his house to confirm things. If they were truly on our side they would have been happy he helped in getting Bin Laden.

A resounding "yes.'
And Awan was probably the ISI's most effective operative they have ever had against US.
They should be made to pay for these.
