If anything, the election showed us that the left needs the working class white voter because the black vote won't turn out for a white candidate.

They were "blue collar voters" when they were Democrats. Now that they are Trump supporters, they are called "racists", and "uneducated".

That's classified as "racism" now? Racism used to mean someone discriminated against someone else simply because of the color of their skin. Now racism has become so broad that it covers any kind of broad opinion white people have towards other races.

Trump's success was due to white working class people being tired of constantly getting told they are the problem. I would assume that nobody in the MSM would describe the voting habits of blacks as "racist" even though it's clear what the predominantly deciding factor is in their decision making at the ballot box.

Racism? Hah.. perhaps if liberals didn't have their heads lodged in their posteriors they would understand that they are responsible for the political climate that Conservatives and Independents used to vote against the most corrupt politician in modern history. It's just the same, old, boring tactic of vilifying anyone who doesn't toe the line by using racism, sexism, or some other "hate" targeted toward a particular victim group.

The problem with studies like this is that just being concerned about immigration means you are a racist.

?????

These clowns just invent new catch phrases to support their narratives.

I'd guess 'symbolic racism' is what motives one to use 'dog whistles.' In other words they are just inconvenient facts.

Could you produce a working definition of 'racism?'

I'll bet you cannot.

LOL people have no idea what "racism" even means any longer.

It is supposed to mean if you think one race is superior or inferior to another, based strictly on racial makeup.

Now it just means if you got your feelings hurt. There are many things that may be rude or socially unacceptable, but they are not racist, such as jokes based on racial stereotypes. These may be in poor taste, but they are not in the least racist.

True dat - I'd love for everyone making a claim of 'racism' be required to write a definition of it in their own words. The results of that would make some interesting reading. Especially amongst the 'highly educated' - they would recognize the tripe they were writing - only the most committed would be able to actually do it.

jokes based on racial stereotypes

Jokes based on racial stereotypes usually suggest ignorance on the 'other' side of the stereotype = that is what makes them funny. If they were factual they would not be funny.

A way to identify it, without flat out asking "are you racist?".

They could have saved a lot of time and just looked at "are you a conservative?"

That does it in one question, right?

Bingo. Nailed it. Stereotyping, while not always a good thing, is human nature. There's a huge difference between generally stereotyping people and real racism. However the Left has swept anything about race under the umbrella of racism.

Reminds of the scene in Up in the Air without George Clooney.

Ryan: [on getting through airport security] Never get behind old people. Their bodies are littered with hidden metal and they never seem to appreciate how little time they have left. Bingo, Asians. They pack light, travel efficiently, and they have a thing for slip on shoes. Gotta love 'em.
Natalie: That's racist.
Ryan: I'm like my mother, I stereotype. It's faster.
