Wait, what? How does a recruiter “max out” anyone’s VA disability? A recruiter’s job is to get people into the military. They have nothing to do with documenting medical conditions at separation, filing VA claims, or assigning disability ratings.

Most of the mad people in this thread I’m sure filed and was denied hence the anger. This is the way the VA likes it they don’t want to give veterans anything. You have to get what you’re ENTITLED to. Every veteran is entitled to some kind of benefit whether it’s free hearing aids or low cost healthcare. You earned it go get it.

You’re dying on the wrong hill here pal. VSO’s don’t get anyone anything. Like I said in the other thread I’ve been volunteering at the VA in a similar role and I may actually take on a state VSO position because of it. Basically a VSO is a liaison to help someone get started and inform them of what all is nescesary for them to submit a claim. It’s far from guaranteed and it doesn’t happen over night. Most people that VSOs help is veterans who are entitled but never applied. You may be against fraud and there are some veteran organizations and companies that do charge veterans for this but most state and organizations like DAV, VFW, aren’t charging they’re simply helping and assisting the process to see if that individual can make a claim to be approved. Just like you’re likely ignorant to 38 cfr which is the law/publication that has every disability, what levels and what diagnosis and documentation one needs to possibly rate that disability. Just like a recruiter can turn away an applicant for any reason because of disqualifying factors, it’s just as easy for a veteran to have a few claims that likely rate around 50% per law. That isn’t fraud. I suggest you and others learn a bit more about this system and the process and how it works before just assuming it’s bullshite or fraud automatically.
