That "fringe movement" is firmly in control of the media, academia, and the Democrat Party. Maybe Trump's coming landslide reelection will pull those institutions back from the abyss but I'm not convinced. They'll dial back the talk but we see where their heart lies.

What we are seeing now manifest itself is the natural progression of wokeness from the universities into the broader culture.
These kids have been indoctrinated, have grown up, and are now taking jobs in the real world. Instead of adhering by the established norms, they are trying to create a new world in the progressive image. It's all they know, they won't stop. The problem is they have no idea what they are going to lose.
Eventually, what goes around comes around just like with the Me Too movement. The Democrats are using it to score points against Trump while losing sight of the fact that Trump is temporary, he won't be in charge for more than 8 years. When he's gone, where will all this energy/anger go? Will the MSM suddenly return to a more reasoned nonbiased approach...of course not.

There's a core reason why the left has such a hard-on about gun bans and degrading the Second Amendment- and it doesn't have a GD thing to do with "protecting the children" or public safety.

Not to say that any of this will happen, but after WW2 there were massive population movements. Millions of Germans were repatriated from places like Romania (where they had been for centuries) and Western Poland (which had been Germany).

I hope and pray that you’re right, but when I see things from the left-leaning people that I know, who before could maintain some minimal level of reason and rationality and now support the extremist views full-speed ahead, I have strong doubts.
