She had been out of school for almost a full year. This video is awesome and shows why kids need school now more than ever:

I don't know I actually think being away from government schools and teachers unions is better for them.

Kids have been committing suicide and have been suffering from all sorts of depression and anxiety problems. They need social interaction with their peers more than anything right now. They haven't gotten that over the last year.

Remember when people didn’t race to broadcast their children’s (or their own) private lives for the world to see to get some views on the internet?

ETA: I empathize with that child though. Good for her. What governments across America have done to these children is criminal.

I don’t think it, I wholly believe it.
Of course, it puts many parents in a bind, and I don’t like that.
But any time a student is exploring and discovering on his own, rather than being indoctrinated by public education, it’s a good thing.

That's because EVERYTHING has been cancelled and shutdown. In normal times kids can get social interactions other ways besides school.

I hear you but at a certain age the socialization absolutely outweighs the cons.

It's not normal or healthy to stare at a computer screen as a substitute for an education at school.

I don;t give a shite if the teachers want to stay home in their jammies and get full paychecks.

Wackos. Not the people in that video but those keeping the schools closed for a year. My kid started back normally in August with very few Covid issues.

I hope that some day the kids of this country will be smart enough to rise above the ignorant weak minded Neanderthal things that we put them through.

I hope my kids and grandkids generation will look back on us as uninformed and petty in he way we handled things that ultimately proved to be meaningless in the scope of life.

Think about all the new genders that formed during her absence that she will get to learn about.

This is why my son is in private school. We started in August on a hybrid schedule (2 days a week in school and 3 online). A few weeks in we went fully to in school instruction. Private school also ensures the education is to my liking.

I was looking forward to this video until the mom started using prewritten statements on paper that is popular on social media instead of just telling her the news.

My 13 yr old daughter was absolutely thrilled when she got to go back to school. The time away from her friends was killing her personality. She hated being away from everybody. If they told her she had to go back to virtual learning, she might snap.

This should have 30 million views. If this isn’t the leading story of every news show (which we know it won’t be), it’s a travesty.

I get it that not being in school has been challenging for kids (I have a 9 year old and 5 year old so I’ve seen it) but parents need to step up and plan some damn play dates and get their kids out doing stuff. Can’t depend on schools alone for social interaction and stimulation.

I’m glad the girl is excited about going back to school, but did they have to do that stupid cue card shite? Is it that hard to say “Hey, guess what? On March 3rd you get to go back to school!”
