My suggestion is to stock up on canned goods that will last three months or so as an insurance policy. If this all blows over, you can either eat them or give them to the local food pantry.
You have to eat. Buying food to last through any possible disruption is a wise choice at this time. Beat the herds and get the cheap stuff while it is still there or end up having to settle for whatever everyone else couldn't afford or didn't want, if it's there at all.
Smart man who cares about his family and loved ones.
A few bags of rice and beans wouldn't hurt either. Twenty pounds of each from Sam's or Costco or even Wally World, are not expensive. Thirty dollars worth .... what does it hurt?

China is practically shut down. There will be a major disruption.
Trump says everything's under control. This will all go away "in April, when the heat comes". Rush Limbaugh says the media is doing this to undermine the President.
So we're good. Right?

I think the number is actually 0.2%. Seems like a large percentage of the population has forgotten their 3rd grade math. Maybe this will help -
With the flu 0.2 % or 2000 people in every 1 million that get the flu die. With coronavirus 2.1 % or 21,000 people in every 1 million that get coronavirus die.
With approximately 350 million people in the US, if everyone got the flu 700,000 people would die. If everyone got coronavirus, 7,350,000 people would die

CDC immunization chief, Nancy Messonier warns "disruption to everyday life may be severe" from coronavirus in the US. She told her children over breakfast: "Right now, we as a family need to be preparing for significant disruption of our lives."
She seems to be over dramatic. Time to get a new chief.
