Very irresponsible statement by cdc official. How is this helpful

With a 2% death rate this virus is not as deadly as the regular flu. I don't understand the panic. Also this is the 19th edition of this virus. What am I missing?

The first thing you are missing is factual information.
The regular flu kills 1/1000 in its deadliest years.
This thing, at 2% is 20-times as deadly as regular flu.
I know math is hard....but damn.
