15 years for 1st degree manslaughter is the max.
10 years for 2nd degree manslaughter is the max.
10 years for 2nd degree manslaughter is the max.

What's sad is this ends up on the political talk board because of how politicized these events have become due to falling into certain categories. Change the race of any of the participants and there's no political outrage.

Another screw in the coffin…this judge will sentence to the max to avoid protesters with pitchforks at her house and the libtards nightly assaults via airwaves re: her lack of jurisprudence. A lack of
courage and love of self-comfort is what’s driving all of this.

You shouldn't, but it's a very real possibility. But the more realistic situation would probably be perhaps not holding out on the issue of guilt altogether, but rather the particular degree. A juror would be more susceptible to giving in if they do believe there's guilt, but not fully convinced of that highest degree.

You are convicted upon accusation in this country; especially when Big Media gets ahold of it. Especially if you are white.

And yet, Ashli Babbit's murderer is a hero! What a disgrace!

If Brown had just complied, we wouldnt be here.

Who would ever be a cop now? DAs and judges would rather prosecute cops than criminals.

Blakely factors could lead to alot more than that

Don’t think first degree manslaughter was appropriate for this case.

quote:Her own testimony did her in and made her not credible in the jury's eyes. She said she was defending her partner who had the look of fear on his face but the body camera showed she couldn't see his face and he released Daunte before she shot him.
The closing argument wasn't the greatest but the state never brought forward any legitimate evidence to support a guilty verdict
Further, during her testimony she dressed like a great grandmother, did a horrible acting job of crying, then mixed that up with cold and condescending answers to the prosecutor. Acted like she had no memory of facts about the stun gun even though she was trained in March.

No exception to the rule. There is always a 10% chance you are convicted in a jury trial no matter how innocent you are and strong your defense is. Heard that from Andrew Branca talking about using deadly force in self defense. Absolutely true.

Someone who was trying to run from a lawful arrest

If she never said the word taser she never goes to trail
There are 2 officers in the car and the suspect is trying to drive away with them in it... she lawfully should've had the right to use lethal force in this case
Daunte Wright caused the situation that led to his death

It was a good shot. Any cop would've made that shot with an unidentified woman in the car of someone with a TRO.
ETA: not to mention the two cops in the car at the time he tried to flee.

So a camera dangling on her diaphragm can see what her eyes see?
Esp with her extended arms blocking a good portion of the camera's view
