This here. This is our hemisphere. We are the only super power. Let everyone else fight over the other hemisphere. We don’t want them fricking around in ours.

Edit: That being said, we should be able to wield that influence without an invasion force or troops on the ground.

I still stand by my calls for President Trump to impose a naval blockade to cut off their oil profits and then eventually impose a no fly zone.

Then the venezuelan military will have no choice but to turn on Maduro and depose him.

Maduro can only hide behind cuban mercenaries for so long.

Not only that but national security as well.

The Maduro regime has supported anti-American terrorists, given shelter to Hezbollah, and acted as a staging point for illegal migrants including those caravans that keep coming here. The regime recently allowed Russian supersonic strategic nuclear bombers to use its airports and they recently buzzed the gulf of mexico with them even getting close to Texas and Louisiana. And they sell a lot of oil to china and NoKo as well iirc.

Overall they have been colluding with China, Russia and even Iran to harm our strategic interests and it’s time to enforce the Monroe doctrine and kick these frickers out.

Maduro knows he can't trust the venezuelan military that he has starved and beaten the frick out of to the point where morale is so low that they are defecting to the opposition.

He brought in Cuban mercs to protect him and help him buy enough time to hold on to power.

If it wasn't for the cubans, Maduro would already be gone.

Well, with common people of Venezuela being gassed for trying to get the life-sustaining basics that is right beyond those barricades...the whole Cuban Army won't be able to stand up to that for long.
