My worry is that the shitbags I work for will get ideas... Corporate is itching to mandate but we're already shorthanded from shortsighted decisions they've made since 2008.
If business drops because of Tyson, those douchebags might see it as an opportunity to mandate and cut some of us.

I suggest finding a better landing spot.

If your employer is already run by retards, seeing this as a good opportunity to cut headcount only means that the talented people are going to jump ship to where they are more appreciated.

Why is the vaccine informally known as the "clot shot" in the medical field?

Just say you have vaccine then get sick. Then go tell them and go home for 2 weeks. They won’t fire you. Problem solved.

Sounds like they're trying to boost manning before their Nov 1 deadline to have 100% vaccinated employees.
Unvaxxed gonna get their walking papers in November.
Tyson's Nov 1 deadline

Why am I thinking that the chicken plants got hit hard with covid in 2020 due, I guess, to the closeness of the employees working the lines. So, why require vaccines if many of your employees have had the virus?

I would submit that it increases the pool. If by having a vaccine people that were not interested in working in a chicken plant might consider it now with some added benefits. Could create some descension within the current unvaxxed workforce but I suppose they would have a Plan B if that were to happen.
I would suspect that those most likely to be willing to work at a chicken processing plant would be poor whites and minorities, who are most likely to not be vaccinated. To me, it seems like this benefits plan is counter-productive.

Sounds about right.

Historically, a lot of the workers at those plants tend to be Hispanics and blacks because it is a shitty job few others want to take.

My lifelong friend and college roommate is the plant manager at one of their (Tyson) poultry facilities... he was given the option to get the shot by 11/1 or be terminated. There are no medical or religious exemptions, and contractors are included.

Yes - many are Hispanic and there is apparently a lot of hesitancy to be vaccinated in that group.

MS vaccination rate by race

Asian 77%
Black 42%
White 41%
Hispanic 37%

Seems like an odd flex for Tyson.

I’m guessing the government is suggesting to companies that they will receive better treatment from FedGov If they mandate the vax. From their website:

We are proud of the contracts we have providing schools, the military, and other governmental agencies with a variety of Tyson products.

Contracts do you no good if you have no employees.

And quite a bit of Tyson's headcount are jobs that are hard to get people to do simply because they suck and don't pay well enough.

God does not want you giving of yourself under compulsion - Religious Exemption ?? Scripture ???

I know some people keep asking for any verse in the bible that may support a religious exemption. Well this popped up on my app this morning and for some of you it may fit the bill. It's not about a vaccine, but it is about your freedom of will.

"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Cor 9:7

Society is telling us that we should give our bodies to this massive science experiment for the "greater good" and is using various forms of force or pressure in the form of some kind of punishment to encourage compliance from those who are reluctant to give their bodies to science. However, God wants us only to give from our hearts, and we are instructed never to give under compulsion, this is a warning sign. If you are reluctant in any way, God says not to give. Remember, God gave us free will, God gave us our freedom to choose. To be pressured by any entity to do something against your will under the threat of punishment is a violation of your religious freedom and can and should be viewed as religious discrimination.

If there are bonuses, promotions or a stock price increase possible, they will do it. It just has to result in a pretty Power Point presentation showing it will meet whatever the short term goal is supposed to be. And that decision will never be questioned in the future, no matter what kind of shitstorm results.
The bigger the business is, the more it is run like government. No accountability.
If that decision creates a problem, no biggie. That's an opportunity for the next person coming up the ladder to solve it and create more bonuses and promotions. The CAUSE of the problem is not the issue..

There's a whole new crop of illegals needing work, some of them won't mind getting the jab.

I wonder how this would go over if a company gave its female employees an extra 20 hours time off if they didn't have an abortion that year?
