How did any protestor try to directly change election results inside the Capitol yesterday? That’s a pretty strong claim, and you seem to have chosen that word deliberately. I would be very interested to know on which specific factual action it was based.

Typical you do that through voting and not barging into the capitol. The problem this time was that their voices were heard and the rest of America didn't like what they had to say. "Change everything" = ensure the law is followed, ie there's actually a chain of custody provided for mail in voting drop boxes when a request is put in, ie ensure that the law is followed and mail in votes that came in after the polls closed weren't counted, etc,

Is that statement supposed to mean something? I asked you for a specific, factual example of your claim, and you gave me feelings and deductions.

By all means, make the argument that the very small minority who broke in should be charged with the appropriate counts of criminal trespass or property damage, but making a statement that asserts they used direct force in order to literally change the electoral votes that were counted is completely disingenuous. They were never even in the same room with the legislators and had zero access to the ballots. They weren’t even armed, apparently.

The whole point of protesting is to make our voices heard and to ultimately effect change. That’s a fundamental right afforded to us by our Constitution, and you don’t get to equate the mere fact of that process with sedition or treason just because you don’t happen to like or agree with the group who’s protesting. I can also guarantee that with a group that large, had there been any real intent of invading the Capitol and actually overthrowing the electoral process, no one in the building would have been able to stop that from happening.

But it didn’t happen.
