What makes it retarded and short sighted? Do they have better ways of getting the lithium that are cost effective than strip mining? If not... well... figure something out and then get the lithium. Don't destroy the frickin' Appalachians (well, some of them) for some lithium. That's not short sighted... that's just being responsible.

I came out of retirement to work a project to build and startup a pilot plant in AR. The pilot performed extremely well....now only time will tell which of the 3 or 4 big players is handed the keys to the castle.
