The way globalist communists and muslims are taking over our allies, we should probably be a lot more restrictive with our military equipment.
With the world in chaos, they probably will end up being used against us.

The fact that they think the Gripen E, while a great single engine lightweight fighter, is still a non stealth 4th gen fighter that can’t match the F-35. The F-35 would have fired and turned for home before the Gripen knew what was happening. It’s just not a fair fight and anyone with any sense and knowledge of combat aviation knows theres an old dogfighting saying “lose sight, lose fight”. The Canadians that are still in their feelings are the ones that are advocating for the Gripen but the people who actually have the decision making power shouldn’t make a purchase based on their political feelings.

but how would the Gripen E hold up to the latest Russian made jet fighters?

The Joint Strike Failure is shite
The F-35 to Saab Gripen kill ratio would approach 100-to-1, literally. In 95% of those, the poor Saab slob would not even know the F-35 was there. Meanwhile, the Saab runs $70M/plane. The F-35 is $80M. The Canuck LibTards cannot get out of their own way.

Canada probably woke up and realized that they can't afford the F-35, in whatever variant. The cost of the Engineering Support and cost per flight hour are staggering . To compare the IDF variant to Canada's is apples and oranges. The IDF literally orders a fuselage and powerplant, then fills out the system with its own Avionics and Weapons Systems. They've done that with the F-16i, F15 and F-15E.

Which should be topic #1 for Trump, while he is in the UK
Stop destroying yourselves or we are out. I’m AF, though not an isolationist, but what is happening in the Western world is driving us into that direction more and more everyday. Frick’em, we can survive on our own if we hunker down.

If they want to drive a 1996 Saab to the party, let them. I hear it's got a sweet tape deck.

We want to force people to buy our aircraft?
Gen 4 European fighters cannot operate in modern combat.
We saw this with India vs Pakistan.
If Canada buys anything but F-35 it means they do not take their responsibility under NATO seriously.
Its not about them buying US, its about there are no European planes on the market that could survive 20 minutes of war.
Their air wing will be of zero help US vs China or US vs Russia if they do this to spite us.

All they will get is dead Canadian pilots.

Trump should make this real easy and simple. He should cancel the deal and tell Canada good luck.

Why, we would have to pay the fine.
If they break it just up the tarrifs to 1000%

This is Canada we are talking about. Not our own country.
They could buy Mig 17s for all I care. Not my tax money involved.

There’s a whole lot of argle bargle out there on this issue, imo.
In general, I do not give a shite what those Canucks do - short of aligning with the likes of China.
I’m so old I can remember when those folks knew their place and had real things to be proud of.
Oh, Canada…

Every plane bought by Canada makes US F-35s cheaper. The loss of FMS sales and associated administrative fees by the DOD will require more deficit spending to cover.
It is definitely your tax dollars that will be impacted

Even if this were true, why would we force them to buy our aircraft for this reason alone?
Listen fellas, our MIC is out of control. this is something even yall used to recognize.
It needs to be reigned in.

Because that is a fact.

This is the Military Industrial Complex we are talking about.
So it most likely will never impact my tax dollars in a positive way

That would be a different argument that we arent getting our money's worth.
But even if you disagree with the entire MIC, Canada refusing to seriously contribute to NATO and spend their money in Europe to spite us is not good for America.
One can be unhappy that their Uber driver picked a road, but if someone runs a red light and hits the Uber its still the drunk Canadians who are acting worse in this situation.
