from a google search regarding Micro-Reactors..
The U.S. Army recently launched Project Janus, a $2.2 billion initiative to install next-generation nuclear microreactors across five domestic military installations to ensure energy independence and secure resilient power.
Project DetailsGoal:
Have the first operational microreactor running by September 30, 2028.
Funding:
Up to $2.2 billion split among five private contractors who will build, own, and operate the units.
Power Output:
Each reactor generates under 20 megawatts of electricity, designed to fit on transport planes or ships for future deployment

There's still a lot of issues to sort out with this, mainly how to properly insure the vessel and how to deal with the massive spent fuel disposal and scrapping costs at end of life. 40 to 50 years is about what you can get out of a hull, and you cant just send a nuclear shite to India for breaking like a regular one.
However, nuclear is definitely the way to cheaper and cleaner energy. Its the only viable alternative to internal combustion engines and hydrocarbon fuels for mobile power generation. The builder might just be hedging that theyll have the boat sold before the end of life stuff is a problem.

It's Sean Duffy making the announcement, so it sounds like they must have a plan for it considering they're slated to being production less than 2 years from now.

Just think, only 10 years ago the progressives would have gone all 'Reeee' on all of these Nuclear power plants, micro reactors and cargo ships being developed.
