WASHINGTON, July 31 (Reuters) - A flawed installation, not vandalism, caused the ?liner of the newly renovated Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool to peel, the Department of Justice said on Friday, as it dropped its case against a former U.S. Olympian. In a court filing, U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro and Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Spence asked a judge to drop the Trump administration's case against David "Davey" Hearn, 67, whom it ?had accused of vandalizing the pool, which has become a flashpoint over President Donald Trump's efforts to remake Washington.

It was obviously contractor error. There was no way someone cut a slit. No way it was vandals. Trump was wrong to take the stance that he did a month after saying it couldn't be cut. Also he had his heavy motorcade drive on it. I'm sure that did more damage than any one person.

The contractor that created the mess Obamacare Website, was fired the month before for failing to create a similar website for Canada.
Why did Democrats hire a failed contractor with a track record, knowing the first platform would fail and millions more spent to correct the mess?
Welcome to insane world of Federal Government contractors.
The pool contractor created the mess, then lied about it. Collect the Performance Bonds, then look for someone outside the system. Why continue going to the same well, when you know the water is toxic?
Look at Obama’s Library mess. Government approved Black Contractors. More like Government failed contractors. Doesn’t matter black or white. Government failed contractors.
Major commercial contracts, use the Disney Approach. Fire the contractor, make money on the collected Performance Bonds, seek a new contractor at a reduced price to finish the job.
The contractors fired will bitch and moan about not getting paid. Welcome to the real world idiot, you failed to perform. You don’t get paid for failure.
But the world sees…the contractors didn’t get paid. Not, you didn’t do the job, you got fired, you don’t get paid for half assed.

It’s true that in the grand scheme of things that it’s a trivial issue. But it is a perfect illustration of the level Trump will stoop to in an effort to save face and not admit he screwed up. He truly has a black heart and doesn’t care who gets hurt.
