frick Ukraine , Putin too for that matter. No business there. If American ( regular forces) boys are part of that shite , it will be WWIII and/or civil war here.

It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard with the exception of mentally ill boys playing girls sports and open southern border.

jmarto1 - You are a special kind of stupid.

Yup and if Putin tried to open an entirely new front even the cowed Russian citizens might revolt.

Sounds like they know Trump will win

You're too kind. Your contribution to this conversation has been riveting

So you are for an endless conflict with US taxpayers largely footing the bill. And I suppose you think Zelensky is not playing this? Is that riveting enough for you?

Where did I say I am for perpetual conflict?

You can do this without being condescending. I wouldn't be surprised if he is. See me earlier post where I state that both sides can be correct. I apologize if I do not think like a far left loon where everything that doesn't agree with me is inevitably incorrect.

but on the other hand Putin isn't going to stop with Ukraine
This is why we can't have nice things. People are told that Putin will not stop at Ukraine, and they believe it. Putin want this over but the Deep State won't let that happen.
The US govt is responsible for instigating this war and is responsible for 1 million deaths. Those countless souls would be alive to day if it were not for this gov't.

A common tactic in this situation is to use choke points...

How many invasions do you think has happened in the post Soviet era?

Russia wouldn't have accepted sanctions, the cost of war, and the massive loss of life over $50B/year.
Russia from the revolt around World War I and Putin was 3 parts that kept each other in check. Same with Red China. What is different now is bot countries have cut off the other two legs and now operate as dictatorships (why you have the historians talking about Hitler).
Even at the height of the Cold War these 3 legs allowed backdoor diplomacy to diffuse any extreme decisions. As a dictator for life (like Hitler) Putin has no checks and can make poor decisions because there are no circuit breakers any more.

According to 2 Baltic countries Russia is already violating their sovereignty via “hybrid war” tactics.
This goes both ways.
Just saying.
Russia could grant Kaliningrad its Independence, and that new nation could declare war. Then Russia could supply them in much the same manner that we are Ukraine.
So why haven’t they done so?

You don’t think it had anything to do with serious consideration of Ukraine being admitted into NATO?
Just saw this part so sorry I did not respond to it. The press would have you think that process was rolling along. Joining NATO is a long process and everyone has to vote on that. If it was on a 100 step process it wasn't even on the first step

In combined arms they would get wrecked. Russia has numbers and that is about it. It isnt nothing though
You are looking too small
Imagine Russia + China
I am old enough to remember Korea
Good guys had Korea won then the Chinese got involved and it was like ant swarming. They poured into Korea and we had to settle for a stalemate.
If the big picture game is about labor and resources, and allied Red Commie group would be formidable.

Might be because Poland and Lithuania would have it carved up within about 48 hours.
