The unit, known as the Unmanned Assault Battalion, was schooled in drone warfare and set to be used as a special group that could deploy anywhere drones were required.

The unit was pushed by former Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George and the former commander of U.S. Army Europe and Africa, Gen. Christopher Donahue. Both were fired or forced to retire early, paving the way for LaNeve's rise to acting Army chief of staff.

The Unmanned Assault Battalion is participating in an exercise set to run through September, where it will deliver what its members have learned over the past year to inform the Army's future warfare.
Good job leaving out this quote of it being a pilot program.

I don’t think people really understand just how much life is about to change due to drones and the threat of drones. The Russia-Ukraine war will be the driver of it. The drones being deployed and tactics being used in that war is absolutely horrific. Terror attacks in the future will not look like 9-11, Oct 7, or even something like the Pulse Nightclub. They will play out on our streets with FPV drones and quadcopter drones.

Yeah these things are going to have a huge impact. I’m honestly surprised that some nut hasn’t done anything with a drone yet. Drones are terrifying tbh and I hate seeing those things flying around.

And China dominates the supply chain

Have you seen what Russia is doing with FPV drones now? They are flying them down the street attacking civilians.
Sky News did a story about 3 weeks ago about this Ukraine man that was attacked. He was probably about 60 or a little older. He was some kind of street car vender. He was working and this drone popped out of nowhere. FPV type. It scanned around and then saw him. Started chasing him around his cart. The inevitable finally happened it caught up with him and exploded. It didn’t kill him but it wounded him pretty bad. There is a video of the attack. I was thinking watching that story that I was watching terrorist next tactic being born right before my very eyes. A country like Iran can buy a bunch of these things and send proxies to Mexico to terrorize US border towns. Probably working with the Cartels since we are killing them now they won’t feel bad about getting even. Cartels could even start attacking the US themselves. It’s scary to think about.

I'm not sure whether the USA has a good defense against this. When we take a look at how incompetent our CIA and FBI have become, it makes me wonder whether they are competent enough to protect us here at home against these emerging threats.

Shotguns with bird shot can take down a drone that is within 20+ yards or so. Just need to mess up one of the propellers and it crashes. If things get bad in the future, just carry a shotgun around with you.

Every unit has drone capability now. They also have anti drone capability with a ton of drone anti drone equipment on order.
CBS is retarded

That's a good reason to partner with a country that already has proven, battle tested drone defense technology. You know, maybe the world's best drone defense industries.

And dipshits say we don’t need a hardened bunker or hardened ballroom in the East Wing.

I sure did. It’s terrifying. That’s straight up terrorism too.
Ukrainian military has been doing the same thing to the Russian invaders too, but those are legitimate targets. Russians drone strikes towards civilians haven’t been as legitimate. Still doesn’t take away how terrifying and scary that has to be, to be chased around by a drone. Like the drones are playing with you, and then wham. You’ve been blown up.

I personally feel that drones of a certain size should be banned from armed conflict. We’ve done it with things like land mines and other munitions and drones should be no different.. war is ugly and should come with a cost that deters its use. Taking the human aspect out of it and killing with machines controlled in a warehouse thousands of miles from the conflict makes war a very casual endeavor in my opinion
