Are you wanting hospitalizations to go up because of Covid? Just wondering. Almost getting that feeling.
No. Scrub is red-pilled as hell when it comes to Covid.

They want BOTH sections FULL.
the only stat that should matter is % of covid patients in hospitals
That’s why I said COVID usage for both hospital and ICU beds...
I also mentioned up in the thread, as you correctly state, that ICU usage is supposed to be high. Hell, OR usage is measured by the minute to maximize productivity. In Harris County, I believe that ICU usage was at 95% the same time last year (on phone, so I’d have to confirm later).

I interned in an OR with 22 rooms one summer. in those 3 months i knew the medical field wasn't for me.
18/22 rooms had cases 5 days a week. The others were heart trauma and I believe Gastro, reserved for emergencies.
Pre/post op was full all day, and ICU/CVICU were full or close to it.
thats the lifeblood of most big hospitals. cutting on sick people.

This is the link to the COVID-19 tracker that I have created and shared on Google Drive.
If you want to view the shared sheet, follow this link COVID-19 Tracker
If you want to download a copy of this sheet and manipulate it follow this link Downloadable COVID-19 Tracker
The source for the data is from https://covidtracking.com/data/
NOTE: For Wednesday 7/1 California did not submit numbers in time to make it into the tracking ecosystem. This caused Wednesday to be understated by almost 10K cases. The numbers have now been corrected.
New Cases by State
New Deaths by State
7-day average growth rate of new cases

Nate Silver's Twitter thread on today's numbers is interesting. What seems to be his favorite modeler estimates there are actually 200,000 COVID infections a day right now, and that modeler has the IFR between 0.2-0.4.
This would mean deaths should be between 400-800 a day, which is where we are, with room to rise but not too much.
The "problem" is the model expects infections to reach 265,000 a day, which translates to 530-1060 deaths a day. Would be great if we continue on the low end of these thresholds.
Anywho, good read

Where are you getting 917 deaths?
Posted on 7/3/20 at 4:48 pm to Crimsonians
From the COVID TRACKING PROJECT data feed that all the numbers come from.
Posted on 7/3/20 at 4:50 pm to Chromdome35
Currently 505 today on World. Won't be even close to 917.

Your shite is way off. Only 68 in Florida. Look at your death map. Goes up to 300's.

WOM's numbers won't be final until around 8pm tonight, they are likely to change.
I just went back and confirmed the numbers in the data feed from CTP, the number I'm showing is correct according to that feed; however, if you look on the CTP Florida current numbers, it shows a lower number.
I will watch it and see which is correct and fix it if necessary.
Here is the link to the data on the CTP site: https://covidtracking.com/api/v1/states/daily.csv
Open the file in excel and Florida's numbers for today will be on row 12. The death increase number is in cell AE12. Says 349 for the day. Maybe that's wrong and they will revise it, I'll keep an eye on it.
Another option is that Florida added in some deaths today that weren't part of their official numbers. That happens fairly frequently. NJ added 1800+ Deaths into one day last week.

68 is final for Florida.
Total deaths likely to be 600's, not 900's.

CT had an error. It’s now 635 for today (total of 122,158).
Posted on 7/3/20 at 5:00 pm to Athanatos
That seems accurate. NJ must throw some on late. They have been 34 all day.

I messaged CTP and let them know they had an error, they corrected it and I've updated my tracker with the new (Correct) information.

Hopefully these deaths being flat week over week isn't a sign of too much of an upturn being imminent.
I don't want the lockdown people to have any more ammo.

Most of the flattening out is because of 2 states.

Good deal, I haven't dug into the state by state.
