"Not for public consumption"

Take apparent efforts by local officials in Nashville, Tennessee to actively conceal low coronavirus case numbers linked to bars and restaurants in the lower Broadway region of the city. According to reporter Dennis Ferrier of WZTV-17 (Fox – Nashville), “coronavirus cases on lower Broadway may have been so low that the mayor’s office and the Metro Health Department decided to keep it secret.”
Wait … what?
Ferrier’s evidence? Emails between the office of liberal Democratic mayor John Cooper and local health officials detailing the low number of coronavirus cases emerging from bars and restaurants – and how they could keep those numbers from becoming public.

This isn’t going to be released, right?” one health official wrote in an email to the mayor’s senior advisor.
“Correct, not for public consumption
,” the advisor wrote back.

UPDATE
Nashville Mayor(D) for doubling down.
Mayor Cooper says his administration was transparent about COVID-19 cases in bars, demands apology
quote:

Conservative commentators like Tucker Carlson on Fox News called on the Nashville Mayor to resign.
NewsChannel 5 Investigates talked about the calls with Cooper."
Cooper said, "Oh impeachment. Tucker Carlson, impeachment. I want to invite him to have dinner with me. He thinks Nashville is not open. He should come down here, bring a mask. We know locally it's not true."

quote:

"You know who really wanted us to close the bars? Staff," Cooper said.

The revelations came as Cooper was requesting another $82.6 million in Covid-19 relief from state lawmakers. They also came just three months after the city imposed a massive 34 percent property tax hike on residents and businesses.
“We raised taxes 34 percent and put hundreds literally thousands of people out of work that are now worried about losing their homes, their apartments … and we did it on bogus data,” Glover continued. “That should be illegal.”

“Thousands of musicians/ service industry people have been decimated in Nashville due to what we ‘thought’ were Covid cases traced to our bars,” said local beverage retailer John Rich. “Now we learn our mayor has been LYING the entire time. It’s criminal.”

This was omitted in the linked article. Found it in another.

Leslie Waller from the health department asks, “This isn’t going to be publicly released, right? Just info for Mayor’s Office?"
“Correct, not for public consumption,” writes senior advisor Benjamin Eagles.

Take a look at John cooper's bio. This guy's plan is to severely depress Nashville's economy for a little while, so he can buy property at fire sale prices, because he knows things will be back to normal in the future, and he will make a killing.

For some reason, I can't get the link to work directly, but the link I gave, will take you to a wikipedia page, and you will see John Cooper(Tennessee politician) listed, just click on that.

The left did the same thing with the Global Warming Pause in the early 2000's; they suppressed the data.

yeah, I think there are sunshine laws in TN that elected officials have to abide by... I do not know if it is more troubling that they believe they can lie over this stuff or that they are so stupid to think the public cannot get access to their texts and emails...

So, I have a question.

Could a coalition of restaurant and bar owners go in and sue the government because of this?

I admittedly have no idea of the law for something like this.

Hopefully that happens, but the sad reality is they will be effectively suing themselves unless they’re allowed to go after the mayor and health officials personally.

Apparently, yes. It's been done over this exact issue. Nashville bar owners sue city, state officials over COVID-19 closures

quote:

Published: Jun. 27, 2020 at 2:13 PM CDT NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT/WTVF) -Several bars on Broadway in downtown Nashville have filed a joint lawsuit against key city and state leaders. WTVF reported that the lawsuit lists Kid Rock’s bar, Honkey Tonk Central along with managing partner Steve Smith. The bars are seeking damages for lost revenue from Mayor John Cooper’s mandated stay-at-home orders. The lawsuit states businesses have been specifically targeted by Director Caldwell and Mayor Cooper and have received unfair treatment in comparison to protesters during recent demonstrations. The lawsuit also goes on to say that the businesses have also received unequal treatment from Metro’s Beer Permit Board and its member, Kia Jarmon. Kid Rock’s bar was one of 14 businesses cited last week for not following Metro’s reopening guidelines. As a result, the bar temporarily lost its beer permit and will face a fine after the case is heard in court.
