You still see alot of organized crime centered around bootlegging moonshine?

- some moved to legit businesses selling it.

- Some moved to other areas of illegal activity.

Are you saying that the Mafia and mob is suddenly gone? Surely you are not. Head of the Gambino crime family gets gunned down outside his home on March 13 this year.

It's the point people are making. The Mafia is still around Nguyener. Five Families — Gambino, Bonanno, Colombo, Genovese, and Lucchese — have survived since Charles "Lucky" Luciano founded the Commission, the Mafia's governing body, in the early 1930s.

The Mob boss that was gunned down was working with the Cartels of Latin America.

The doc then told my dad he'd call in a prescription to Walgreens for a weeks supply with a refill and he could pick it up if he wants. That's a major fricking problem there.

Separate and legit issue.

One does not end the other.

The cartels clearly make tons of profit from weed, else they wouldn't be moving it in the first place. They already move opioids and harder stuff. Why do you want to give them weed profits too?

Where did I say that?

I stated... UNTIL WE ACTUALLY GO TO WAR AND STOMP THE SHITE OUT OF THE CARTELS THINGS WILL NOT GET BETTER ON ANY FRONT WITH THAT BORDER!

This is not rocket science.

Yeah well that’s gone over well with the cartels who bought houses to sell dope undercutting the legal dope huh? Read up on it. You think the cartels will just go away quietly? You think they want to pay taxes on all that shite? Lol.

That's like saying... legalize murder and people will stop killing.

This is a terrible analogy.

The difference is that violent cartels cannot beat private industry in a free market ruled by consumer choice rather than a monopoly of violence. Perhaps they could with a drug like cocaine which can only be produced in areas they control, but weed grows everywhere, and it is their biggest seller. Cartels won’t be able to maintain their expensive operations if they have to compete with legal weed growers nationally.

Dude, organized crime suffered a huge blow when prohibition ended. Quality of life improved. The same thing will happen as we shift towards legalizing drugs. It won't eliminate the cartels, but it will weaken them tremendously.

My dad was an alcoholic for many years. He was very conservative. Addictions don't care about party affiliations.

What in the frick does that have to do with what I said ?

Liberals like to blame objects , like guns and drugs.

Lack of personal responsibility is responsible for addictions.

What’s the thought about using our Military intel to build a case on the cartels ? Then drone the hell out them relentlessly
