The people who left these churches should buy back the buildings and hire conservative staff for them.

My understanding of the structure of the UMC is the national organization owns all of the church properties, so if a congregation decided to leave the UMC a couple years back, they either had to find a new location or buy the existing church property from the UMC.

The result has been that the national organization is wealthy at the expense of their former congregants. And the lesson is that the relationships between individual churches and denominational entities need to be modeled like states vs federal in the US.

To your point, prices for the former UMC properties should be more reasonable now, and it’s a buying opportunity.

Jesus didn’t start a new church/religion…his followers did. He died after celebrating the Jewish feast of Passover if you remember.

On the contrary, our church attendance has tripled since disaffiliating from the UNITED Methodist conference.
We haven't tripled but bursting at the seams. We voted 91% to disaffiliate and went Global Methodist. The United Methodist Church can blame its Council of Bishops and the Judicial Council for this.

Getting past the facts that do not care about your feelings, I’m curious if your comment includes Origen as being a fool too, or maybe untrustworthy, as he was simply quoting from the Gospel of the Hebrews.

And yes, the bread and the wine is symbolic — not actual human flesh or O positive blood.
I would urge you to re-read John 6

He is right about one thing: it isn't O+.

It's AB+.

Ever wondered about why the dove is a symbol of the Holy Spirit? It’s no coincidence the that the Greek word for what we call a dove is “Perishtar”, or “the bird of Ishtar”.

Or maybe it's because the Gospels say the Holy Spirit descended on Jesus like a dove?

You don't really think someone will 'remember' that, do you?

The scriptures I’m reading say the Holy Spirit actually was in the bodily form of a dove and landed on him.

It could have been any of the thousands of types of birds, but for some reason they chose the bird of Ishtar - the bird that represented their main female goddess of the the entire Fertile Crescent for a few thousand years that everyone knew about? You think that is a coincidence? I don’t.

Fool.

Acting as if your ramblings are facts.

You took one of thousands of things by a flawed human hundreds of years later, many of his other ideas were also crap.

So yes fool, you look at a thread to interpret but ignore the whole cloth.

So you’re calling Origen a liar. He was quoting a verse from the Gospel of the Hebrews that he disagreed with. You’re saying he made it up? You think he fabricated something just to have something to talk shite about?

Origen didn’t support that idea from the Gospel of the Hebrews. You’d know that if you actually read the subject matter.

You find a thread you think leads somewhere and ignore it's place in the cloth.

That's what fools do.

You are a fool.

He already has. I'm one of the chosen ones. You've chosen a group who thinks pedo priests and abortion on demand are biblical. I don't need your prayers. You need mine.

Rather than ad hominem attacks, why not address the subject matter? Maybe you are incapable of having a logical discussion.
