PANDER
PANDER
PANDER

These corps are losing their minds....I want my pilot to be the best pilot available, not chosen by gender and skin tone!

I'll bet you 1 million dollars that this statement will not be honored....

I was going to say this had more to do with a looming pilot shortage than wokeness......but alas

“United to train pilots with no experience at its new academy”

Nice to know which airline to avoid going forward...

All die within microseconds can't get more equity than that.

They are only preparing for the day when aircraft fly themselves 100% of the ride. There will still be a human in the cockpit, but there will also be a German Shepherd. The dog’s duty is to bite the human if he touches anything.

I don't think this is all bad, aside from the fake commitment to women and minorities.

There is a shortage of pilots. Asia is paying top dollar to tenured American pilots, and the job sucks at the beginner level. You have to spend a lot and then make terrible money for a few years to get the big airlines start to consider you.

It sounds more like airlines are realizing that the talent pool isn't naturally going to flow to them like it used to; this is a way they can have more control over the pipeline of pilots headed their way rather than sitting back and getting screwed a decade from now.

Companies always say that woke BS (half our pilots will be blind transgender) but the truth is those people really don't want to be pilots.

Might work if Tesla is building the planes and they figure out a way to put a deep fryer in it.
