I'm not for outlawing unions, except public sector unions because the people who are paying the bills are not at the negotiating table (i.e. taxpayers)

Yes they are. Who do you think the union negotiates with?

Unions advocating for worker’s rights is great.

We do not want a country without unions. Even non-union employees owe a debt of gratitude to the unions for standing up for workers. God help the work force if there were no unions, and corporations didn’t have to respect the fact that employees can unionize. We need a vibrant middle working class and unions are the best option to keep the corporations honest.

If private employees wish to unionize, I generally support them.

I am vehemently against public sector unions.

Private sector unions: welcome aboard! Let's see what we can do to grow your membership through increased economic activity and opportunities!

Public sector unions: GTFO, we're putting all of your leadership in prison on RICO charges and making your organizations enemies of the state.

Private sector unions don't elect the ownership of the corporations they work for. Public sector unions do. That's the difference. Public sector unions get paid with taxpayer money to campaign for political candidates in order to elect candidates that will give the union more taxpayer money. It's a massive scam on the taxpayers.

1- There is no circumstance where I support public sector unions. None. Not for teachers. Cops. Nothing. Not one. The government does not need protections. frick all public sector unions with a cactus. They should be illegal.

2- Unions should not be mandatory. If you want to join a Union, great. But I do not believe they should take over entire employers, sectors, etc.

3- unions are a net positive for employees and I do believe in collective bargaining as a concept. Where I take issue is their participation in the political process. Union dues should not be used to contribute to political candidates.

Unions are not “supporters” of the Democrat Party, they are an arm of the Democrat party no matter what the general membership thinks. Unions are bullshite. They’re now on the same side as big business. It’s stupid

making a state "a right to work state" is not supporting workers. Saying your going to stop illegal immigration to protect workers and up until trump never doing a thing to stop it is also not protecting workers rights

Most police and firefighter unions are supportive and actually serve a purpose to protect members from frivolous lawsuits and corrupt politicians.

Most private sector union leaders are just grifters.

That is a decision which each local makes.

I will note that almost all refineries are union and almost all refinery baws vote against Dems.

Take the major reciprocating compressor manufacturer, Ariel. They like their union relationship and vice versa.

FWIW, almost every Koch Industries plant is UNION. David tried to break the union early on but his employees preferred that relationship so he let it stand.

Are we talking trade unions like the IBEW? or shakedown experts like the SEIU?

Construction trade unions are good. I don’t know why the gop isn’t targeting them for votes since they are becoming more and more the workers party as trump says
