He's unpopular on here, somewhat unfairly I think

People treat him like he's Mitt Romney or Jeff Flake, when in reality pretty much all of his criticisms of Trump are completely fair and spot on.

He's also not permanently opposed to Trump like those guys are.

sasses is an arse who never supported
trump - refused to support him in 2016 and not a supporter now,

He has terrible baggage that way, Trump's will never support him -- one of the "intellectual Conservatives"....no future

I would support Grennell and Pompeo in a heartbeat.

Didn’t know he had a history of not supporting Trump, but I can understand why.
History background and a D.Phil
He’s too smart, and understands too much about the entire world.

My guy right now is DeSantis, although I do feel a great deal of affection and loyalty for Pence. I almost hope Pence doesn't run.

No on Sasse. He is incredibly accomplished and intelligent for his age, and probably does get more shite than deserved sometimes.

But he’s not well liked by both sides in his own state.

Ben Sasse is an incredibly consistent ideological conservative and his criticisms of Trump are usually right.

Sasse, however, doesn't understand that he's never going to wake up in a country full of citizens who have eagerly read Edmund Burke. He's not willing to fight in the way that conservatism needs to in order to survive and grow. He's a rich white country club nerd.

I see. So, in other words he missed his chance 40-60 years ago.

I think Grennell is ok, better in a cabinet position in my opinion. Presidential ticket should include Larry Hogan. The country is raptured and the Republican Party is going to go through some strife after Trump loses and I think Hogan is the type of guy who people on the right can easily support and he can convince people on the centrist left to vote for him. He has pretty solid policy all around the board and strong approval ratings from Missouri. He’s been in politics a long time but he isn’t old guard republican or a sheep.

I think Ben Sasse is smart, could be on the ticket, but I wouldn’t be overly thrilled about it.
