You're probably right....but if the shoe was on the other foot and Russia was being invaded by a superior military power that was intent on marching their troops into Moscow, don't think for a second that the Russians wouldn't violate the Geneva rules, up to and including the use of nukes.

Women amd kids have arms too. I have seen pictures of them being touted as heros defending year country.

Urban warfare socks.

I pray for them all.

So set your defenses among women and children and you can never be invaded

They are the country that has been invaded. Russia violated Ukrainian sovereignty. Not sure why a declaration of war would matter.

The US fire bombed Tokyo.

The Brits fire bombed Dresden.

The US carpet bombed/arc lighted the Vietnamese.

The US used FAEs and cluster bombs in Iraq.

And that’s just a sampling of the good guys.

Need I go into the use of gas by all sides in WWI?

Compared to the above examples, Russian strikes have been relatively surgical.

Best thing from a humane aspect would only include two options: Russia go home or Ukraine give up.

What's your solution, C?

We disqualify them from war and hand over the country to Putin?

They become an organized militia and are protected by the Conventions, different protections than civilians but they are still under the convention.

That is BS they are using disproportionate force, and Russia has been wrong since the initial attack, it is aggressive war and they are criminals even if they don't violate specific targeting rules.

Russia does not have shell the Ukrainian cities. It could just pack up and return to Russia.

1. All is fair in love and war.

2. Boo freaking hoo the Ukrainians are not fighting the way the mentally unstable midget thought they would.

There is evidence of murder from russian forces, there is evidence of war crimes and there is evidence of bombing of civilian targets early in the conflict. fu

If there is anything I learned about combat it’s that war is not about a fair fight and there is no such thing as disproportionate.

You’re in it to win it or you’re a politician who has no hide on the line.

The thread is about the law of war. Again the special military operation is a crime. But disproportionate force is a targeting violation. Taking down blocks of undefended flats is a crime.

Two things all war and combat have in common are chaos and fear. It drives the immediate conflict.

As to laws of war, war crimes, etc. that is dictated by the countries, regimes in control of the fighting.

Japan and the Nazis are good examples of notorious violators. But there is truly no civil way to conduct a war Cruelty is the nature of war. It is why wars are avoided at all costs.

The Geneva Convention is asinine to be honest.

We were using aerosol bombs on the Taliban and ISIS you know. Also known as thermobaric bombs. Also banned.
