Cool.

So what about scientists who claim results by watching the Discovery Channel?

My post includes all scientists including both biased and unbiased scientists.

With no specification. Do you group the scientists that conduct research based on television with those who take your claim seriously, or with those who do not?

You have asserted that the scientists who claimed they proved ancient Egyptians weren't "African" said they proved it by watching the Discovery Channel.

Post the entire paragraph in which the scientists said they proved it by watching the Discovery Channel so I can determine the full context of the paragraph in which it was used.

I've been anticipating this paper and didn't know it had been released. I am an ancient DNA junkie since it can solve a lot of archaeological mysteries that weren't possible until now. Thanks for posting.

By the way, everyone who knows anything about Egypt already knew they weren't Sub-Saharan Africans.

Those people aren't black and you don't need DNA to discern that. The blonde hair on the top pic isn't natural (no grown man has hair that platinum), but it still shows they have Caucasian hair (straight and slightly wavy). The Egyptians (at least the elites) were about like modern Jews or Lebanese or something in that realm. They were Caucasian but not "Nordic" like some white nationalists try to claim.

Now, there were black people in Egypt, but they were mostly there for trade or to work. The Nubian empire was an enemy (or at least a rival) of Egypt and the two empires didn't always get along. Indeed, there are many Egyptian reliefs showing the Pharaohs leading armies against the Nubians (and clearly depict them as black, as opposed to the lighter Egyptians).

A personal genomics company in Switzerland says they've reconstructed a DNA profile of King Tutankhamen by watching the Discovery Channel, claiming the results suggest more than half of Western European men are related to the boy king. But researchers who worked to decode Tut's genome in the first place say the claim is "unscientific."

The link in the OP didn't work for me.

Where are you getting that quote From?

Yes, they were Levantine. Is this even moderately controversial? They definitely didn't look like the actors in The Ten Commandments.

From KCT's post. Maybe you should be more careful when you jump into an argument.

Have some white nationalists actually claimed this? I've never heard of that.

The full title of Darwin's work "On the origin of species" is: "On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life".

Are you trying to pretend that all 3 of those pictures are from ancient Egypt?

PS - So much for Obama's stupid claim that he was descended from an Egyptian king.

I'm actually kind of impressed that you managed to work Obama into an ancient Egypt thread on the first page.
