Some of this is media-driven hype and division. But, some of it is just good ole dislike of LSU. The media have always tried to poo-poo many great accomplishments for LSU.
Some examples:
- The Flynn to Byrd TD to beat Auburn, a spectacular game, was trashed afterwards for having one second left on the clock after the play. The anger was because of what would have happened with an incompletion, as silly as that is.
- The 2003 National Championship will always be referred to as a "split" national champion, even though there was only one BCS Champ. They would not have returned LSU the favor had the roles been reversed with USC, you can count on that.
- LSU won the Game of the Millennium, on the road, and that victory was trashed afterward with Alabama being credited for having outplayed the Tigers. That bitterness helped get Bama into the title game for an undeserved rematch.
- The last two Final Four men's basketball teams were constantly portrayed as thugs and the bad boys on the block.
- The media loved Ed Orgeron because he sounded like a stupid caveman. That's exactly what they think Louisiana people are like, and they enjoyed hyping him up for that very reason.
- The 2007 BCS Champs will popularly go down as the worst national championship team in history. That's a pile-on, because that LSU team, when it was at its best, would have beaten many other national championship teams. They may have had the worst record, but they weren't the worst team, and are not the worst team to win a title.
I could go on, but you get the idea. Yes, ESPN hates LSU. Along with 75% of America. They hate to see us succeed because they think so little of us.

Tons of negative tweets and post about both Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark ..... The real story should be about how they both put women’s basketball in the spotlight! GO SEC!

Why does Olberman write LSU as L-S-U? What a fricking weirdo!
I don’t like Olbermann, but I will answer this for you.
He’s using the old standard broadcasting script format, in which all acronyms have dashes between their letters so they will be read properly. You can see him do the same thing in the script with M-V-P. He also puts into all caps the words he wants to “punch” in the script.
It’s a way of writing that’s kind of on its way out in broadcasting, but it’s old school.
Again, I do not like Keith Olbermann. Just explaining it.

It’s a good thing the white men in the men’s NCCA championship don’t engage in gamesmanship like those black LSU women!

If anyone has watched any of the female collegiate basketball games over the past several years you would have noticed that the game has become more thuggish.
A lot of poor sportsmanship on the court.
