JD Vance knew he was lying, which is why he doubled down and got Walz to confirm the lie. It was brilliant, and most on here called that JD move when it happened…..props to the rant!

Though Walz had previously mentioned the incident, this was the first time he discussed it on a national stage. Earlier, in a September 12 campaign speech in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Walz had criticized Vance for characterizing school shootings as a "fact of life" in America while advocating for increased school security following the Apalachee High School shooting in Winder, Georgia.
"Think about that—families forever broken. Too many of us have been there," Walz told supporters last month. "My own son was in a place where someone was shot in the head. Too many of us have experienced this."
Noticed he didn't say anything about his son "witnessing" the shooting.
We can rely on Tim to "embellish" any story.

this feel like one of the half truths that trump sometimes uses. Did he witness the act...no? Did he have to go through the active shooter alert, and was he probably scared for his life? Probably. So in that way he witnessed it.
Assuming the shooting didnt happen miles away, I can't get on him about this one. As a parent, when Walz got that report, he was probably incredibly worried

You know this in the moment and so did Vance. I thought it was brilliant of Vance to express sympathy to ensure that this makes it out to the internet sleuths
