The fact that Iran doesn't already have a nuke is a sign to me that they care less about the nuke as a war tool and more as a negotiation tool. It is harder to enrich uranium early in the enrichment process than it is later in the process. They've seemingly had ~60% enriched uranium for years when just a few weeks/months could get them to weapons-grade.
The idea that Iran having a nuke means that Israel is going to be nuclear wasteland doesn't really make much sense given what we know. Israel still outpaces Iran technologically. If the two got in a nuke throwing fight, Iran is going to lose. However, Iran having just one nuke changes their bargaining position greatly. Israel would have to change their ambitions in the region and many of the Muslim nations would probably distance themselves from Israel and some would outright realign themselves with Iran.
That is what is really at stake. Not Tel Aviv irradiated, Tel Aviv no longer being able to dictate the state of play in the region.

I think conceptually an argument can be made for it. I think you can squint and see that the US/Saudi/Israeli/Gulf States interest against it is more about balance of power concerns than existential concerns.

I can't understand how anyone can't agree that Iran shouldn't have a nuke based on their irrational, murderous, and savage history as a terrorist state.
