My wife and I were talking about “what would it take for something like this to get completely out of hand”.
I told her “something completely unexpected like Iran hitting the Dome of the Rock with a missle and destroying it”. It’s pretty crazy to hear someone else say it.
I wouldn’t be surprised if I ran doesn’t do it on purpose to kill the coalition against them. Israel wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to try and rebuild the temple because they would know the chance might not happen again for 1000 years. Chaos would completely overtake the Middle East at that point.

I think Carlson thinks the biblical aspects of Israel passes his WW3 oh noes usual tripe easier.

You plan it meticulously, stage resources, time it for maximum effect and execute.
In this case you'd probably hijack or smuggle in a missile launch system into Iranian territory, launch the strike from some remote desert area and scatter.
Infinitely easier than getting the entire anti mossad investigation group in Iran to be run by a team of mossad agents.
On a list of wildly improbable things Mossad has done historically it wouldn't even make the top ten probably. Those guys are the best in the world at what they do.

I don't know if it's a lack of knowledge, naivete, confirmation bias and cognitive dissonance, but many are surprisingly out of the loop as to just what extent a certain group of well-connected operators are willing to go to create enough chaos so that their own overlords become the global "King of the Mountain".
