His transformation has been really interesting to watch.
He definitely toed the GOPe line during his writing gig at Bill Kristol's Weekly Standard, and he came off as a George Will wannabe at CNN and MSNBC. Even in his early FNC days he was steady and uninspiring, consistently parroting the conventional wisdom.
Something happened along the way that turned him into an actual Constitutional conservative traditionalist. And I think it's really genuine, not a 'character' he puts on for ratings purposes.
I bet he never gets invited to the cocktail parties anymore.

Tucker speaks exactly what I am thinking (other than UFO talk). He calls people out, no matter who they are - even hitting Trump from time to time. He is as real as it gets.
He also will have the opposition on anytime they want.

( man that made me miserable).... so I took a few years off from watching that stuff and with the riots and all now, I DVR tucker every single night.. he’s the only one I enjoy watching.. and it’s refreshing to see someone actually cover it responsibly
