re: Trying to stop child trafficking is now "Qanon-adjacent" and "paranoid"

Here is the post.
You saw it, b/c you replied to it.
SFP, perhaps I'm still missing it. The strength of your argument is here:
quote:Is that detail included somewhere in your post?
The "force" element in trafficking that is often presumed is now based on age. In LA, it's not even 18 (it's 21). So any pimp who has a prostitute under 21 is engaging in "human trafficking", even if no actual force, threats, etc. are used.
Your arguments throughout this thread suppose government overreach. You finally brought that home with the LA example.
Perhaps specifics of such overreach (such as the <21y/o no force, no coercion LA trafficking law) were buried in one of your links? They were not included, other than general assumption or extrapolation, in your comments. Existing specific examples of government overreach are foundational to your argument.
E.g., I'm not at all empathetic with concerns regarding ANY enforcement of coerced prostitution in minors or children. Not in the least. I couldn't care less whether the pimped kid is a "runaway" or "homeless." Those points in your posts don't gain a sympathetic ear with me, to be kind.
However someone >18y/o, who can consent, falls into a different category IMO. If a girl or guy in those circumstances willingly sleeps with someone in exchange for what the parties agree is fair compensation, there should not be associated criminality attached. Prosecuting such a situation at all is dumb. Extrapolating trafficking laws to expand criminality (if that is happening) is damn well inexcusable.
Antiprostitutionists argue prostitutes put themselves in harms way. They argue nonsensically that legalization would expand that danger. IMO that's BS. But as with the LA trafficking law, it gives government the ability to try and prosecute an elderly widower like Robert Kraft seeking a little sex without any expectation of commitment. Should that be a crime? Not IMO.
However, if the girls involved in the Robert Kraft establishment were held there against their will, the establishment should be shuttered, and its proprietors prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. That is my take.

Why did you bring them up in reference to a post prior to their existence?
It makes no logical sense.
No, your bottomless hypocrisy on these matters is what makes no logical sense. You yourself were a victim of an orchestrated misinformation campaign and were thrown into a moral panic, the very thing you are condemning in this thread.

This is a lie
How is it a lie? The whole point of your post was that citizens were still illegally congregating on Bourbon Street.
quote:
No. Those didn't exist at the time of the comment.
How could a comment prior to the protocols be based on the protocols? Did I have a time machine?
What? Then why were you b*tching about “illegal mass gatherings” on Bourbon Street?
Governor Edwards had ordered a state-wide shut down of all bars on March 16th and Mayor LaToya likewise had ordered “a shelter in place” order on March 20.

I have the sads we did not get SFP’s promised history of his avatars.
That would have been epic to critique.

That I can do easily.

Did you see where I said I must have remembered wrong and this was an example of me proving I could say I was wrong (it's rare, but it happens)?

Mate you really are purposely contrarian way too often. Everybody knows you're smart - stop trying so hard.

Rare? It’s happened multiple times in this thread.

Is he? The entire progression of this thread — from SFP’s very initial post in the discussion — has repeatedly demonstrated him to be an utter fool.
